Bexhill and Hastings area?

Does anyone know Bexhill Town Centre, if so is it a good shopping area?

Also, anyone know Hastings and surrounding area?  Thinking of spending a couple of days there, but is it a pleasant location?

Grateful for any comments,

amethyst

Bexhill and Hastings area?

Hastings has a lovely old town area right by the sea. Not sure if I'd want to go there when it's cold and some places may be shut for now, but later in the year I think it's rather lovely and  quaint, as well as very interesting historically.

Have never tried the newer area as it always looked just like another seaside town with cheap attractions. But the old town is well worth a visit IMHO.

They have the traditional Jack in the Green celebrations every year when loads of different groups, Morris, pagan etc all join in - not sure if you'll find anywhere to stay in the immediate area then if you're not already booked in - but again, great fun and if you can choose your days, worth the trip.

Bexhill and Hastings area?

It's about four years since we were down in Sussex but from what I remember of Bexhill, it is a nice town with and I think that it has a wide street running from the sea into the town centre and there's plenty of shops along there.  I like Bexhill but I wasn't overly struck on Hastings but it was on the cold side when we there and I think that it put us off.
