Sorry, folks, but I really will be glad to see the back of this year! Having lost my Aunt & Uncle within 7 weeks of each other, then a friend, who was the same age as me, then my beloved Poppy and now this with my Brother being paralysed, I really can't get into the Christmas spirit at all. And everyone I talk to seems to have had a bad year with lots of doom and gloom. I suppose it's because we are all getting older and these things are going to happen more.
On a lighter note, the sun is shining and the dogs are laid on the settee basking in it and the budgie is playing woth his toy cart and his mirror, he loves the sun on his cage.

Hi carol, sorry to hear about your year, I think we are all each a bird in a cage, just need to enjoy the sunshine when it comes.
Pete.

I know what you mean - I'm coming up to the 15th anniversary of my daughter's death at the end of next week, just two weeks short of her 19th birthday.
Christmas was a bleak affair that year but you have to put it behind you and move on

I know exactly what you mean. I had to get my mum into hospital on New Year's and she was in hospital for five days. In September, I was diagnosed with skin cancer which has now improved a lot thankfully.
Anyway, let's hope that 2014 is a better year for all of us.
