 JL is full of them, in all sizes from teeny weeny to mahoosive . Absolutely lovely displays.  You;ll have to ask Santa nicely LOL.

 I should have said that in store they have Monty's den with some clever technology that allows the kiddies to interact with Monty. Its really very clever.  Also his girlfriend is called Mabel. . Nice to take the kiddies to if your in JL or yourself if your a big kid at heart like me. Lol

It is lovely. however, allegedly the large Montyand Mabel furry toys are £95.00 each. Good heavens.  They do have small ones at £12.00 each though. I suppose they have to pay for the advert somehow.

Remember Dorothy Parker's famous comment about "The House at Pooh Corner"? Writing as literary critic "Constant Reader" in 1928, she came up with, "... Tonstant Weader fwowed up."

Despite my better judgement, I looked at the advert.

I now know just what she meant.

I am a big Dorothy Parker fan and had the privilege to visit the Algonquin to have dinner and see the round table and even sit in her chair, was a fascinating place.

I have not seen the ad.

In the house I usually let the landline answering machine pick up the caller because I cba with those boiler room salesmen and the rest, (if it is a friend they shout 'Are you there?') and we're all on our mobiles today aren't we?  Anyway, I love that she said (about answering the phone) 'What fresh H*ll is this?'.  I also loved the gamut of emotions from A to B (was it Katherine Hepburn, it's late!).

Having now seen the ad I think you'd need to have a heart of stone not to be moved by it.

Reminds me a bit of The March of The Penguins.  I used to babysit my goddaughter's 2 little girls one day and overnight a week whilst she worked and it was one of our favourite films.  Ok we did FF thro' some scenes, but when the Mummy came back at the end, we all cried.  Every time. lovely stuff.

There is something so appealing about penguins as well, isn't there?

There is isn't there. They are very cute.   Although it didn't take long for Monty and Mabel to appear on Ebay for £499.00 How can that be justified. I thought 95 was extortion for the large one in JL.

I remember taking my (now grown up) son to see the penguin walk at Edinburgh Zoo.  2pm every day.  He was shaking with excitement, it was quite something, even for an adult.  They are comical too when they walk, I've forgotten what species they were.
