Amazon gift card

I have an odd email in WORK email in box - offering me a free £50.00 gift card.

Now this is strange because I have NEVER used my work email to order from Amazon. I have on a number of occasions used my computer at work to order stuff, but it has always been using my home email address and home postal address.

After checking with IT support they said it was fine to go ahead and click on the link, so I did.

Took me to what looked like the usual sign in page, so I put my usual home email address and password. It then said that the account was inactive (it was used last week) and asked me to confirm details of an amazon credit card.

I have never had an amazon credit card.

So I can only conclude that this is some fairly clever scam to get hold of credit card details. It is well done as it looked like the proper site - none of the usal poor English, mis-spelling etc.

Shame - a free £50.00 gift card would have been nice.
