Re: Alright own up who was praying for snow,

I'd like some snow please, but I feel sorry for the poor sheep, who'd be a sheep eh? mind you, it was blowing the beejeebers out of the place today, rain going horizontal, and there's the sheep merrily chomping in the fields...I'd rather have my tea in the warm though....do they feel the cold?

Re: Alright own up who was praying for snow,

I want some snow please!! I've often wondered if sheep feel the cold, CB. Always feel sorry for horses and ponies that are out in all weathers and not lucky enough to have a blanket.

Re: Alright own up who was praying for snow,

Do sheep feel cold,? Not as we do no! However they need food to keep them warm as we do, & also many are in lamb this time of year. Lowland sheep have extra food in Snow as they have lost their natural ability to dig for grass unlike hill sheep, but even they need food when snow reaches a certain level. So to be fair it is the shepherd who hates snow cos it means extra work.

Re: Alright own up who was praying for snow,

Now don't get me wrong I love snow, it's much better than this warm windy and drizzly weather we are having at the moment, however at the moment, I am still getting presents, going to work and I have a lunch to go to Wednesday and a skittles match, so I could do without the chaos it brings, after 10pm on Friday night it can snow all it wants, I will have finished work for a week and so long as my shopping gets here on Monday that will be fine.  Bring it on.

Rose I would love to pop in for coffee,

Re: Alright own up who was praying for snow,

Only thin skinned horses need coats, I've often seen my next farms hunters in the finest money can buy coats standing shivering, whilst my native ponies are galloping about & rolling in the deepest snow. They have never had coats on & don't need them. It's wind & rain that horses & most animals can't stand.

Re: Alright own up who was praying for snow,

I have to go to work until Friday , have family travelling to me  on Christmas day and we are driving to Devon for the New Year. It doesn't take much snow for everything to grind to a halt round here so ...

PLEASE...

don't snow until at least the 31st December.... if I get stuck in Devon I'll just have to stay a while longer!
