I googled to watch that ad yesterday, it's 'cute' isn't it. Bit ironic that it's about giving simple gifts/things when you think about all the fancy stuff they sell though!!

I've not seen that one yet but someone else was on about it on another thread earlier.  Must look out for it.

It's on you Tube; I've just watched it again. It's lovely. (I also mentioned it in the thread about "Christmas."

Hello loulous, the advert cost £7M to make - there is an article in my Sunday magazine. it really does touch the heartstrings.

£7 million! There is something seriously wrong with that fact. I can't help but think what that money could have done.

I heard that price on the radio this morning.

That £7 million would have gone to the government as tax Maggie.  They would have probably sent it to India to help with their space programme or some other such useful project.  This way it goes to the animators, film makers, TV company  and all concerned with it  and hopefully will circulate in the economy of this country.

7 million, yes it goes to keep people in work I agree with that, but it would have also built a Hospice, helped to run a refuge, helped the homeless at Christmas, need I go on.

Yes I agree it could have, but it wouldn't have because things just don't work like that.    I don't think JL would get tax relief on charitable donations, although I'm not certain about that.  So it's still better to circulate it in the economy than pay it over for some MPs weekend country residence!!  LOL

Haven't seen it, won't be seeing it.  Nobody in our house bothers with adverts.  Sound off, nose buried in books or making coffee or visiting a certain small room.  Adverts just don't impact us at all.  OH the other day had explicit instructions that I wanted to go to the BIG TESCO and still drew up, after closing time(Sundays!!!) at a totally different supermarket.  One day he'll get them straightened out.

Have you seen the M & S advert?

I'd switched channels and it had just started, I thought it was some programme or other.

I see some people mute the adverts, I do usually but have you tried watching them with no sound?

I think that if the advertisers did that before they were transmitted they wouldn't bother with them?
