Yes I know Sam, but sometimes it is hard when people are so anti and it makes you feel so guilty.

Thanks Sam, My best friend and my other friends are terrific, they dont judge me and accept me as I am. Mind you one of them drinks like a fish and the other one collects frogs, what more do I need to say.

Ed, I smoke, have done since my early teens, and don't consider myself a bad person. I don't smoke around people that don't like it and it doesn't worry me if I go somewhere where it is impossible to go outside for a quick puff, but to be honest I enjoy a cigarette and although I know the risks am willing to accept them. I DO smoke in my own home and if anyone doesn't like it then they don't have to come into my house - it's their choice. I don't drink and hate the smell of alcohol but know that I have to put up with the smell of other people when they have had a drink, it's all a case of accepting people for who they are not who you think they should be. Stop beating yourself up for being a smoker, from your posts you sound to be a lovely person despite your habit - go and have a fag and chill out!!!!

I took your advice Myra, this morning I took both the dogs out at about 5.30 we walked quite a long way and went up a hill, and I wasn't puffing when I got to the top, there is a bench there, I sat down and the dogs lay on the floor, I lit up and took in the view, it was sooo lovely this morning not a cloud in the sky and I could see for miles, absolute heaven, peacefull and calm, what a morning, thanks girls you made me feel a bit better about myself.

Good for you, don't ever go feeling bad about yourself, and don't let others make you feel bad. Be yourself, if people don't like you then it is their problem not yours! So glad you had a lovely early morning with the dogs (and a fag), one of my dogs is too old for a good long walk and the other one just refuses to go more than a few yards so I really envy your lovely experience. Both dogs are rescues with problems, one as I said old now with dementia and the "I don't do walks" one is just learning how to be a dog at the age of 6 or 7 she has taken almost a year to learn about toys, cuddles etc. maybe one day she will tramp the fields with me.

This won't stop kids starting smoking, none of us ever cared what brand the ciggies were just where we could get one from
If they were that serious about stopping people from smoking the surefire way is to ban them outright but they won't do that due to the loss of tax revenunes and too many people living to a ripe old age

I have no problem with people smoking or drinking if they enjoy it. For me personally i wish id never taken that one drag when i was fifteen,, mainly because my friend was doing it and i thought it was cool!!. I never ever smoked inside of school as some did,, i was too frightened of what my parents would be like if they were told. At home i used to go up in our bathroom and hang out of the window,,,then spray perfume around like a maniac. I cannot understand how they did not know or could not smell it on me even!!!. Smoking became all i thought about. Im glad for me that i gave up. Some people ENJOY and dont want to give up. Fair enough, but if you do want to stop then well done for you.
