Things didn't go as planned, I spent most of my time walking the line from the site of Lowton St Mary's Railway Station towards Plank Lane Railway Station. Also due to circumstances, I've not been able to get inside Hyde Road, but hopefully I will this Sunday!

Circumstances?
They haven't put an armed guard around it to keep you out have they?

Lol, no! It's just when I went last Sunday to go in, some of the loose bricks around the entranceway had fallen inside the gap and I had left the pole I use to drag bricks out in my car and going back then returning would have taken too long, so I opted to making things safe and removed the other lose bricks, though the ones inside I am having to leave to get out until this Sunday, which will be my next attempt at going inside!

Ah, I see.
How far away do you have to park, then, if it would have taken that much time to go back for the pole?

About 100 metre away, but because it is blocked off by the road side, I have to go the long way round, which means that gets extended to about half a kilometre for me to walk. Though this Sunday didn't go to plan either, on the Saturday night I had the hardest of time falling asleep, I only got about 2hrs sleep before I went out at 3pm. Later whilst I was there, about 10 police officers came over the embankment to arrest me........ just kidding, they were part of a search party, a woman had gone missing and they were looking for a way back down to the road, they were actually very chill with what I was doing and I gave them a point in the right direction.
Anyhoo, I managed to get pretty much all of what I was doing done, found pottery of some type as well, dug enough of the entrance, so I can lay down both of my tarpaulin sheets and slither in, my only issues are going to be two pieces of concrete that I have been trying to dig out, though one I can just push out of the way, as I did so previously, it just got a little stuck on the other bricks that were inside and I couldn't push it any further, but once I'm in, it shouldn't be to much of an issue... famous last words 😉

Wow! Well.... that's certainly unexpected.
Did they find the person they were looking for and did it make the news?

They found her body later in the Debdale Park woodland just a bit furth up the line: https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/body-found-search-missing-woman...

Ah yes.... I saw your tweet this afternoon. Most unfortunate.

Even though the rain was light on Sunday, I decided not to go, guess the discovery of the missing girl weighed on me a bit!
26-10-2020 11:42 PM
Was it very close to your site?
28-10-2020 3:02 PM
Yeah not too far away, just a few hundred yards up the line! Though I definitely will go this Sunday, as long as it's not chucking it down!
28-10-2020 11:53 PM
The forecast is heavy rain I'm afraid - but it should change to light rain after about 12.00 - 13.00 so it would probably all hinge on if anything pools from the morning?

Well, the Sunday trip last week was quite harrowing, I wasn't sure if it was going to collapse on me, especially with the extra load from the landscaping by the grounds people, but the additional chamber was a big surprise. I'll be back this Sunday, this time with extra light, so I can see further into the abyss, and if there is any way I can dig into it, as long as it hasn't been covered up now... that'll be really galling!
26-11-2020 10:55 PM
Is the unexpected additional chamber the one that is in the video I saw at the weekend?
Maybe you should try an EVP session down there?!

The additional chamber was the Bonus Footage at the end of the vid. I did go again this Sunday, but unfortunately due to sleeping issues over the weekend, I went waaaaaayyy too late to be able to do anything useful 😞 So, back again this Sunday, hopefully I don't get any sleeping issues and I'll try go out earlier so I have more time, my bendy light should come in handy here methinks!

By "sleeping issues" I take it you mean you overslept...?
02-12-2020 10:18 AM
Yes and no! I did sleep way past the time I wanted to have left, but that was mainly because I had been unable to get to sleep before 9am since the Friday night, then slept much of the day, even though I had set my alarms to wake me up about mid day, I ended up sleeping a few hours longer, which is not what I wanted to happen!
02-12-2020 10:55 PM
Ouch! That's a lot of sleepless hours. Happens to me sometimes - I can't switch my brain off occasionally for no particular reason and then before I know it, it's time to get up again. Most annoying. Have been known not to get up until 10.00 sometimes on weekends when there's nothing planned.
04-12-2020 4:43 PM
Sometimes I do stay up until the morning light on purpose, but not this last weekend, I just couldn't get to sleep, then when I did, it really messed up my time to set off, by the time I got there, I should have already been getting out from the hole! However this Sunday, I will make sure I am up and out by 12pm and I'll definitely be bringing my good tarpaulin, as the ones I brought last time, barely cut the mustard... plus I definitely need to get some proper overalls, I came out mucky as heck last time and put a small hole in my trousers!
I hope to stay inside a little longer too, I really want to investigate the new chamber as much as I can before I get out, also, I'll try removing some of the brick that's inside, though not much, I don't want to have the roof come down on me, but enough to make things inside a little easier to move around and hopefully find some more treasures! Or just interesting artifacts 😉

The weather doesn't look too bad for tomorrow, albeit still very cold, so there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to make progress. Just make sure you get to bed on time tonight and have your alarm set!
