I'm surprised they haven't axed the boards years ago, come to think of it...
17-07-2025 2:42 PM
probably too busy trying to come up with ways to make more money at the expense of sellers 😅
17-07-2025 5:13 PM
Well, in the end, I shall be last anyway 😉
17-07-2025 11:50 PM
We all say that...!!
18-07-2025 12:12 PM
at least I took part
18-07-2025 9:49 PM
Indeed you did, and that's the whole purpose. Please do stay around. 🙂
22-07-2025 10:11 AM
A lot of people used to take part... alas 😢
22-07-2025 8:53 PM
Yes, but at least we are getting the occasional extra dropping in now, which we didn't a year or two ago... even if they don't stay long...
23-07-2025 10:10 AM
That reminds me of a song:
When will I see you again?
When will we share precious moments?
Will I have to wait forever?
Will I have to suffer? (Suffer)
And cry the whole night through?

Which group is that from? I'm obviously not into songs with my ears... 🙂

Here you go:-
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

Thank you; their name does ring a bell from the distant past... 1980s I think?
27-07-2025 4:34 PM
That song was from 1973 although the trio started in the early 60's.
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

Ah... That shows how much attention I ( don't!! ) pay to pop music doesn't it?!
29-07-2025 4:30 PM
Would it even be called Pop Music back then?
29-07-2025 7:23 PM
Pop Music as a music "type" began to be more widely used in the 60's but I think it began to be used in the 50's in the USA.
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

Hmm... I certainly thought 1960s for the start of the use of "pop" but 1950s does make sense, thinking about it...
I'm not quite sure where the boundary is between "pop" and "rock" really? As in... what is the difference between the two types of music?
I'd be more inclined to listen to classical / military / film themes myself...

The dividing line between pop and rock can be more than a little blurred at times. Pop has "catchy" tunes and usually verses with a chorus between, sometimes quite repetitive and has more "popular" appeal (to the masses?). Rock is stronger, heavier music and often the songs are longer and attempt to "tell a tale".
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

Thank you; that's something I'd never been aware of. 🙂
