A disgusting question.

Was just watching The Wright Stuff on channel5.  They were looking at the newspaper stories and one was about a young woman who saved her boxer dog's life by giving it mouth to mouth resuscitation.  A couple of the panel were disgusted by this (well, have you seen a boxer's slobber?) but Natalie Cassidy  said, 'But when your baby/toddler had bad congestion with a cold, didn't you suck it out?'  Julia Swahala (sp) said yes, Kay Adams said not only had she not done it, she'd never even heard or thought about it!!!

I loved my children as much as any other mother does, but I can't imagine doing that!   Could/did you?

A disgusting question.

I have done it and so has my vet and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again to save the life of one of my animals.

I have also resuscitated a person but using a face shield as a humans potentially hold more life threatening diseases and germs than any animal.

I also know a vet who resuscitated a pet rat before. 😄

I meant with the baby/toddler mitzi.  I think I could blow into a dog's nose/mouth than a suck a snotty child, even if it was my own.:O  Of course I would do it to any child if it was a matter of life and death.:-)

No I couldn't do it. Reading about it makes me gag! I am a bit blennophobic & a child with mucus is my worst nightmare. I can't deal with vomit either. It's even uncomfortable typing it!

Looking up blennophobia I think my son used to have a touch of that.  He couldn't stand raw fish, raw eggs and washing up liquid.  The common denominator is slime!  I guess he's had to cope with wiping snotty noses being a lone dad, not a lot of choice!:-D

It wouldn't stop me, but then I was a nurse, so there really is no sight or smell that bothers me.

Well, actually, there is only one thing, but maybe too much for people, so my lips are sealed 😐

I'm with you stan, although who knows what you can do untill you're actually faced  with a life or death situation.  I suppose if one of my kids was dieing I'd do anything.Don't know about animals though.

I went with DH on a train outing Carlise , the lakeland moorlander , lovely scenic route but i felt so ill i thought it was travels sickness but it continued when i got home .

My new meds had caused me to feel very dizzy & nauseous, it was bad that i just couldnt move around or it made it worse .
