UK Community Update

Employee (Retired)

Hi Everyone!

Today we launch the updated eBay community in the UK.

As you will have noticed, the eBay community looks different. We have launched the updated design of the community with a few new features:

  • Mobile experience enhanced
  • Reduced load time
  • Quicker navigation through the site

Of course, all your previous posts, messages and comments are still where they were before. The changes to the community are focused on the look and feel, to enhance your experience and allow mobile users to fully utilise the community, too.

If you have any questions about the new eBay community, feel free to ask below in this discussion board.

Did you find your solution? Help other members by marking your problem as solved. Simply click on "Accept as solution" for the answer that helped you.

Re: UK Community Update

Perhaps the developers could put back an alert that shows us if there is something in our seller hub that might need our attention like a sale or a message.  At the moment I'm opening another tab and flitting between the two.

Re: UK Community Update

I guess some folks will criticise me posting a song video here but if you play it and watch the lyrics, a lot of them seem to fit quite well with how this new fangled board layout seems to be.

Re: UK Community Update

Yes, they are rather apt, CeeDee.

Interestingly perhaps, if you read them again, from the point of view of ebay.

"Where did I fall,  lost in my sin,  I'm not alone,  Sun rises in the east,  one world we melt into, etc."

Ebays journey from everyone's on-line market to part of today's dominant clique, by restricting free-speech becoming more like  it's eastern objective.  Moving towards a globalised world run by a network of big-tech corporations.

Re: UK Community Update

Eagerly awaiting katie@ebay 's return to see how much (or how little) notice has been taken of our FB and what is being done about it.

I hope you have stocked up on food , water and bog rolls .

If you leave your computer for more than 30 seconds , you may miss Katie's reply .

And if you miss it , you may never find it !

Re: UK Community Update

Interesting!

I am not a regular visitor to the forums, so today I was flattered to receive kudos as an issue from Jan 2020.  First the sorting didn't work it was all over the palce, second, and this may be normal all items were greyed out - ie the topic is effectively closed.

Pity as after brexit knowing where the seller is registeredd is more important than ever.

Re: UK Community Update

Now we've ranked up to Community Senior Members do you think we might get yet another  childish badge to take up page space.

Glad to see the little tinkers have done just as expected and only tinkered rather than improved or even better reverted but that was always pie in the sky.

Re: UK Community Update

eBay seem uncertain whether to classify us as Seniors or not.

I suppose, with the vaccine qualification rules, Senior Citizenship is more attractive this year than it used to be.

Re: UK Community Update

it's so childish, do they really think 'ranking up' is important to any of us?

Re: UK Community Update

Well now, Monday has come and nearly gone but there's been no word yet on "management reaction" to the reception this new layout has revealed?

Re: UK Community Update

I want a spaceship, gimmee gimmee gimmme...

On the main thing about this stupidity though is that the dumbing down has been long planned courtesy of our Colonial Cousins (Am I alowed to say that?) from accross the pond. I got my first badge back in 2017 and am an Adventurer over there whatever that puerile title is supposed to mean 8 posts.

As soon as the badges appeared here I new it was downhill from there.

Still they do at least have the proper links to escape it over there.

Re: UK Community Update

Major rule in customer service is that if you say you will call back. You do, even if it's only to say you have no news. It tends to keep the customer happy just knowing they are not forgotten or ignored.

But as this is eBay I guess the only ones who are expected to give good customer service are the sellers, should have known I guess.

To be fair, there was a "hopefully" or similar in katie@ebay 's last post.    But lets be honest, we've seen "I'll report back to you" so many times before, we know what usually happens  --  NOTHING.

"Management reaction"?   My prediction, same reaction as usual  --  Put up with it or go elsewhere, we don't care whichever.
