Hi everyone,

 

Our eBay Community Team is made up of marco@ebay  and katie@ebayBetween us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on, we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have, and we’ll do all we can to support. 

 

How the chat works:

  • The chat will open at 2pm and will remain open for new questions until 3pm each Wednesday.
  • We will answer the questions chronologically and will reply after 3pm if needed.
  • To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply.
  • We will reply quoting your question.
  • This chat is designed to provide quick replies from eBay employees on subjects we can assist you with publicly.

Afternoon Katie and Marco.

 

when I use my phone, to log in I use fingerprint technology to verify it's me. When I use the eBay app the same again. So why for example I want to goto a tab within the App it asks for my fingerprint that several seconds later I get the we need to verify it's you by sending you a text to the phone. The same phone I am using tha app on!!!

 

Do ebay think that someone has chopped my finger off and is running around the uk with my phone and said severed finger trying to use the app? It's annoying to say the least I am very careful and proud of the ten digits I have at the end of my arms and certainly won't be letting anyone in the near future remove them!!!

Could you please clarify this for me? I was under the impression that you are getting a message saying that you couldn't revise your listings as you said "The listings will not let me revise them as it says offers pending, sent the offers around 3 months ago" Are you just unable to revise your listings and you're not particularly sure why based on the screenshot attached, or are you getting a message somewhere saying this is due to pending offers? If so, if you could send a screenshot where you see that, I would really appreciate it.

To be clear if I buy something on a standard delivery on  the 10th of Jan I do not expect it to arrive on the 10th Jan, how can you say this is working.

 

There is a fault as mentioned regarding the parcel tracking number taking the customer to the couriers website photo attached on first post (I have highlighted this in my 1st post with the red arrow)

 

It then says the Yodel website is down, it is not, it appears there is a problem ebay ends.

In this situation, it would be from the 10th to the 11th. This could be due to information taken such as dispatch time performance, buyer location, seller performance, courier performance.

 

We have checked this with our shipping team and there is no technical issue at play here.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

 

I asked a question (Message 13) in the Weekly Chat on 1/11/23 about eBay Premium Service Benefits disappearing from certain items (all involved in AG Sneakers, I was then asked to start a new thread but the last update I got (telling me there is no update) was 14/12/23. 

 

Since then I have tried to contact customer services, been promised call backs from managers (they never come) spoke to the Executive Escalation team, who seem to ignore any parts of this when it is asked in an email but will answer others parts of the email. The discount reappeared for approximately 48 hours on the 28/12/23 but now reverted back to no discount and I dont have the funds which I was told would be correctly refunded to me.

It does not allow me to revise the Item title or description, just the quantity and stock amount

 

Previously when offers were sent they were live to the peole watching them for 3 days and in those 3 days we coul dnot revise the listing title or description just the stock and buy it now price

 

The example listing is still like taht after around 3 months of the offer being sent

It is over 30 days as it was bought for a xmas present (recieved 9th dec) . i have sent seller 4 e-mails 27th dec,3rd,4th,8th jan but no reply. how do we stand with that ?

It looks like this has nothing to do with old offers, it looks like something else.

There is an error when you click on the parcel tracking number, as I have tried several parcel numbers we have sent out today via ebays Packlink. 

 

It is only for YODEL ones I attached the a photo of where I click and it takes me to the Yodel website that states "site down for maintenance".  There is an issue with the link for Yodel.  Royal mail link is working fine.

 

However, if I go on Yodel's website myself it is working.

 

I have again attached and highlighted which section I am clicking on to direct me with the Yodel website.

 

Please advise this will be looked at.

Don't worry the system isn't checking you've got all fingers intact. There are some pages of eBay that will ask for verification even after you've signed in. This is due to the nature f the information eBay has on these pages. For example, personal information or payment information.

Of course Im referring to the thread in question, thats why I mentioned it. I havent just not received any updates I have been ignored. Since the last message from eBay things have changed twice, so you can say there are no updates but there have been atleast 2 that I notified ebay about, but again I was ignored when I said this. The least eBay should have done was let me know they have seen these changes and even if they didnt have a clue what is happening not just ignore me.

 

Its basic customer service to chase up issues and report back to your customers, I dont need to know every day that coding is being done, but when things change I'd like to be kept updated and not have to just talk to myself.

If the transaction is outside of the coverage period, I'm afraid there is no much we could do. In this scenario, we would recommend to continue contacting the seller to see if you can reach an agreement with them to return the item.

I can look into this further for you. It could be just the yodel site being down, so our side can't pull the data from it. 

 

Could you send me the item number in the image example you shared? I'll be able to review from there.

Could you explain these search results please? Why so many wildly unrelated items? Or at least pass this on to the search team because it's very obviously broken.

 

Search term 'kiwi design Oculus Quest 2 head strap'. The first 8 or so results are more or less correct.

 

Then I get random results like a case for a Libre e-book reader, a Lazy Susan, a back cream applicator (??), a kid's digital camera, a bum bag, a peanut shaped massage ball, chopping board oil, Cadbury's Crunchie 4 pack, cereal containers, hair treatment oil, a porcelain tea light holder, batteries, a sea glass necklace.....

 

I could go on as there are more. But surely you can't come back with the mantra 'working as designed' on this one?

Hello All,

Please could the link to the UK Digital Sales Reporting guidance be added to the seller hub announcements for every one to see?

I am sure that you are aware that there is a lot of confusion on the discussion boards with a few mentors trying to help and repeating the information daily.

As this affects every seller, it would make sense that it is sent to all as a lot of people would not know where to find the information.

Hi @darth_baggins,

 

Search works by using keywords and views them as separate search terms. 

As you explained it shows you the most relevant items it can find at the top, using a mix of the words and the most used category.

 

From there it shows you less relevant searches, these could be based on the category or the search terms. For these examples it looks to be the category. It looks to be picking up kiwi , head strap and picking up beauty categories.

 

I think the best way to search here is to select your category from the left after you have put in the search terms. This removes any items from other less relevant categories.

IF I requested a cancellation is it possible  and the cancellation hasn't been confirmed, is it possible for me to tell the seller to just send me the item 

 

P.S the seller said she doesn't know how to cancel and takes a while to reply messages

Thanks for the response. In the real world though, people will just give up and buy it from somewhere else instead, which is exactly what I did.

 

There's no way you can justify being shown chocolate bars and back cream applicators when searching for a very specific item.
