Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 09.10.24 @2pm

Hi everybody!

The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible. 

Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!

Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay, marco@ebay and dave@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. 

To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order, and will quote the original question in each answer. 

Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.

Hi pg_kicks, thanks your question.

It is of my understanding that if the listings are not in compliace, the listings may be hidden. However, to be completely honest, this is not really a regulation we created and we are not experts on these kind of regulations either. For further information on GPSR you can click here.

...if my products are not CE-marked will they therefore comply without the "Economic operator" field being filled in?

I was commenting something pretty similar to a different question on this just there, if the listing is not in compliance it may be hidden as far as we know. However, this is not a regulation we created, and again, we are not experts on this either, for further information on this you can take a look here.

If those are taking longer than 10 days to fix maybe eBay shoudl employ more of better staff in those areas, just a thought I hope you can pass onto the team

I understand it can be frustrating when reported issues are taking longer to be fixed and I can assure you they are being worked on.

Thanks but the link doesnt answer it, either the person who was asked to answer questions at the event told a fact that eBay will only hide if they are requested to do so or she told a pretty vital piece of information that is fundamentally wrong. I know you will not be able to answer it as its way above the paygrade but are you able to ask whoever the lady was, I sadly cant find out who ran the GPSR session on the app but they will both know the lady they asked and find out prior to the 13th if eBay plan to hide automatically or hide only if requested as many people were in that session and now may believe what we were told by eBay staff.

I will try to look into it, but I cannot guarantee you that we can get further information on this. Anyway, we will share more information on this as we get it by the time this comes into effect on December 13th.
