Hi...have opened a return for an item and on the return it states send in a box.....the item just came in a soft bag envelope...
Do I now have to go out and find a box or can I return to RM in the original bag it was sent in?

Normally you send it in the exact packaging they came in.
Have you thrown this away?

As long as it's unbreakable I'm sure a bag would be fine. If there's any risk of damage in transit ask your local supermarket for a free box.

yes I still have the original packaging,so will send it back in that...strange that ebay would stipulate "send in a box" on the return tho...

It will be fine if that what they sent it in.
just make sure all previous addresses deleted/removed from the package.
Don't want it ending up back with you again.

I have an update to my return....
I repackaged in original packaging and took to the PO with the return label attached...it was not accepted by them as the weight far exceeded the labels power...although there was nothing different in the received item and the returned one...
so I will have to buy my own label for the return at the higher weight limit...if anyone knows how to upload a new tracking number into the return case would they please let me know?

Contact eBay Customer Services explain the return label is not sufficient to cover the weight of the item, and they can supply another and charge it to the seller's account. If you have already bought the postage, ask them to alter the tracking for you.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I do recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open, as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
