not received an item and seller wont respond

We bought an expensive item from US on 4th November. Delivery was set between 13th - 24th Nov. I have emailed seller 4 times and no response. The delivery date has now gone up to 25th Nov, so I cant open a request. Can I contact ebay direct to step in and if so how do I do this. My fear is that the delivery date will creep up until its gone over the 30 days that Ebay can help. The item does not even look like its been posted on the tracking system. Any help very much appreciated. Thank you.

You can't open a non receipt claim until 1 day after the latest estimated delivery date. You then have to wait 4 working days before you can ask Ebay to step in.

The 30 days starts from latest estimated delivery date, not the purchase date.

What is the estimated delivery date for your order in your purchases? that is set when you buy the item and can't change. It sounds like you maybe looking at the sellers live listing of the item, especially if it is a multi quantity listing you bought from.

I'm not entirely sure that I follow what you're saying.  As @barry.110 has already pointed out, it's only the date of the active listing that regularly changes, not the latest estimated delivery date in your Purchase History.  Are you saying that it's the date on the active listing that's changed, or the one in your Purchase History?  If it's the former then that's nothing to be concerned about, as it's just to give potential buyers an estimate as to when they could expect to receive the item if they purchased it.  If, on the other hand, it is the latter then it would suggest that there is something amiss with the latest estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History.

In the event that it really is the latter of the two options your best bet would be to go back to your Purchase History, make a note of the item listing number for the item in question and then contact eBay Customer Services by clicking on this link:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid.  When the next page shows up scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on the blue button at the bottom of the screen where it says "Have Us Call You."  However, if you do decide to contact eBay Customer Services the best option would be to contact them first thing in the morning, as that way you've got a far better chance of getting a call back from an eBay representative based in Ireland, rather than getting a call from one of eBay's Philippines-based representatives, whose fluency in English may leave something to be desired.  The lines are open from 8:00am to 10:00pm from Monday to Friday and from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Once you get through to eBay Customer Services give them the item listing number taken from the item in your Purchase History, then explain what has gone wrong.  If you manage to get through to somebody with an ounce of sense then they may well be able to help resolve the problem for you.
