Mmmm, as they say,  if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

Have you checked where that seller is registered,  is it the Far East ?

I think I see a 0 for feedback?  So, nothing to check there.

I would avoid,  but if someone does buy and it's a fake, they are guaranteed a refund under eBay's 30 day MBG policy.

Your protected so i don't see a problem making the purchase may just get a bargain

Just make sure you read the description, may be new but..... its got a chip, its a refurb, its a second.

New doesn't necessarily mean new.

Thanks, a few years ago there was a similar ebay item that I purchased
getting my money back a month later, maybe the scam is accumulating
interest on the money paid out?

Thanks, I think it is too good to be true, maybe using ebay/paypal/buyers money for short term interest?

To be honest I would advise you to steer clear of buying such items from sellers on eBay and instead look at buying the item from an established High Street company with a strong reputation to uphold who have the item available to purchase in store, or who can order it in for you in the event that it is not in stock if you visit the store to enquire as to whether they have that particular lens for sale.  If you were to buy the lens from a reputable High Street store then you would be able to get a guarantee on the item that lasts for far longer than eBay's thirty day Money Back Guarantee, as you would automatically get a twelve month guarantee on the item when you pay for it.

In addition to the above many stores will often offer buyers the option of paying a bit more to extend the guarantee period on an item purchased so that you get more than the standard twelve months guarantee that is automatically applied once the item is purchased.  Therefore I would suggest that your best option would be to purchase the lens from an established High Street retailer, especially as the lens would automaticallly be guaranteed for a period of twelve months from the date of purchase, as opposed to thirty days if you were to purchase the lens from a seller on eBay.  That way if something went wrong with the item during its guarantee period you could get it repaired or replaced if you bought it from a High Street retailer, whereas if you bought it from an eBay seller then you wouldn't be able to do that if something went wrong with the lens after more than thirty days had passed from the date of purchase.

eBay does have a good money back guarantee for items that are obviously not as described, or where there is no tracking showing delivery and nothing arrives. But there are situations where the money back guarantee is harder to use.

If the seller is actually an experienced scammer and provides "false tracking" -- a valid tracking number that shows delivery to your area but not your actual address -- then that can make it impossible to win a standard "item not received" case, and there would be nothing to return.

Likewise, if you receive a unit that appears to match the description but much later turns out to be a factory second, a grey market unit or even a clever counterfeit, you may not be able to get a refund if too much time passes before you notice.

In general, you can avoid a great deal of trouble by choosing to purchase from experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering what was advertised and by not buying from new or inexperienced sellers offering deals that are "too good to be true".
