cashmere clothing

At this time of the year I start looking for lightweight warm clothing.  I am disabled and cannot wear heavy clothing.   The lightest is cashmere.

Every search is predominantly Crew clothing, which is almost always a cashmere/cotton mix and I don't like their clothes anyway.    Why?

My search is cashmere clothing in the sizes I want UK only.  I search  'Best' 'ending 'soonest' Every time, the garments are this one manufacturer.  If their clothes are best and ending soonest, without going through all the pages, cannot wade through all the Crew stuff to find something I like.

Is there a possibility to NOT LIST a factory in the search?  I never had this problem other years.

When I was a student it was known as Bodleian searching. Here is how I would search for pure cashmere clothing that is not Crew brand, and not a cotton/cashmere blend, also not any other blend...

"cashmere" -crew -cotton -mix -blend

Just make sure there is no space between the minus sign and the thing you don't want to see. It depends on Sellers having accurate titles, but it will cut out a lot of the things you don't want to see.

You could use the menus down the left hand side of the screen to further refine by ticking things like:

cashmere

100% cashmere

your desired colour

you can even set a budget here too 😏

Good luck with your shopping for Winter!

I would use a Bodleian search too, and as style_wise says, you have to use the "100% cashmere" filter in order to get accurate results (click "Women's jumpers and cardigans" to get that filter).  Otherwise you risk getting results like the following one:

Title:   Winter Women Ladies Cashmere Sweater Casual V-neck Pullover Knitted Tops Jumper!

But in the Item Specifics, it says it's actually Polyester.   It was from China 🙄

Note that by putting -crew in the search term, you might exclude crew necked sweaters, although some crew necked sweaters were included in the search results that I got.

Hi @moonlight-rhapsody @emtdickson

You are absolutely right about being aware of the rubbish that Ebay allows in the Titles of many new items. "Cashmere" & "Silk" are very often misrepresented in listings by unscrupulous sellers. I always do an image search on the Ebay image and if it comes up with AliExpress listings or the like with the same photos you can look at their listings and often see it listed as Polyester or "silk feel" or "Cashmillion".

I reported a few to Ebay showing the use of the same images and the different material content. Guess what, Ebay couldn't find a problem with it even though it was in black & white.

In general, If the label is stuck on it is unlikely to be cashmere. If they don't show the label, unlikely to be cashmere. If sold at ridiculously low prices, unlikely to be cashmere.

It matters massively because fake cashmere / silk burns very quickly, but why let that get in the way of profit Ebay!

It's totally indefensible that ebay condones misleading information in the listings.  But regrettably it's just one of the many ways in which ebay falls well short of the standards which would normally be expected of a company that valued its reputation.
