Uk buyers now not allowed to buy from America!

Has any other UK buyer had this problem? I'm absolutely disgusted with eBay for ever implementing it. It's so discriminating and weird. Basically if you're in the UK, you are now no longer allowed to buy from any seller in America, no matter how hard it might be to find this particular item, no matter how much you might be willing to pay for it, eBay don't care at all. They should actually be ashamed of themselves, they didn't even have the decency to let UK buyers and American sellers know about this ridiculous new rule. If you haven't already, just try it. You can put any item in your basket, but you just...can't buy any item if it's from America. When you go to checkout, a message comes up saying "sorry this seller won't ship here" despite the fact 1) you probably can't find the item you want anywhere else 2) some sellers are happy to ship to UK and 3) it's global shipping

And the worst bit about it? There's nothing the seller can do. If you are lucky enough to eventually get it shipped here thanks to a workaround, it's eBay that decide the shipping cost, not the seller. So you might find yourself paying more for shipping than the actual item!

I can't even begin to tell you how upset and confused I am about it. UK is not even in excluded countries, eBay are just treating it like it doesn't exist at all. Me and my fiancé had to ask 3 different sellers about sending our most sought after item for our collection (which we did eventually get thanks to one lovely seller ending the listing and re listing it for us- just in a different category) but that's the only way you can buy. I've just had a American seller tell me they will get a account restriction if they send a different item to me, as shipping to UK is no longer allowed. Yet shipping to pretty much every other country is? It's absolutely disgusting!

I wonder if eBay realise if they keep this up, they will lose so many customers! What do you think of this?

Do i assume this trading route is only restricted to ebay sales? 

On another site last Thursday, i bought a few items from the USA for delivery to the UK, although obviously they have not been delivered here yet due to shipping  time, the items can be tracked through Miami on there route to the UK which is normal.

100 percent agree as they was no indication or information that we can't
buy from America think once I get my orders through that bought from
world of books I'll be closing my Ebay account had since 2018

I had this about a fortnight or so ago when unusually I decided I wanted a craft item that wasn't shown in searches as being sold by a UK-based seller but was being sold by a USA seller.

It let me go all the way into check-out and it was only when I clicked the last button, to buy, that I got a message telling me I couldn't purchase. I stared at the red banner message for ages wondering what to do, refreshed the page a few times in disbelief in case it was an error (not had my payment declined before), then I opened a new tab to see if I should ask customer service about it. Then, after some minutes, I noticed the check-out window had changed to saying I could buy if I used a different form of payment. I couldn't pay by that method, so I left it (tried to forget my disappointment, but it kept being advertised to me until I suppose it got sold).

But maybe this means that if at first you think you can't buy from the USA, maybe try later?

Otherwise it makes nonsense of eBay UK showing products available in the USA especially actually pushing them in adverts.

A good point. It did take me a while before I thought of it - my brain works like a penny dropping through treacle. But then it said, but only after at least a minute or so, that I could buy, albeit using a different payment method; you'd think with computers that it'd say so immediately...unless it took time because the MAGA administration* was assessing my inner thoughts and opinions to see if I was "harmless".

I had the same similar problem.

Us buyers use EBay to send the pieces to a Hub.

EBay then sits on the item for in my case 4weeks, despite paying the postage. 
I then get a DHL reference a Parcel force reference and an eBay reference that don't work.

You then get hit with import duties that in my case where half the price of the item £160.

Normally the seller would write gift on the item or a lower value to keep paying Trump money down to a minimum .

EBay seem to have taken over the postage, send it late, give no information then you get hit with fees that in the past weren't there. 
Try getting a call back lol, then try getting the language in English.

Take a look at my post regarding an American seller who refuses to refund on faulty items.  Ebay did not put a stop to this transaction!

Do not forget that Ebay is an American company - Ebay = East Bay = Oakland, CA, where they first set up in business.  Then moved to Silicon Valley, San Jose peninsula very close to Paypal working with Paypal.  Split from Paypal.  So, there you go!  Who is doing what to who?  "Shot in the foot" comes to mind!  Ooops....

Its discrimination, we the British in the UK are being discriminated against left right and centre, its not acceptable ! To exclude the United Kingdom from the rest of the world and treat us differently because we are British and because its the UK is illegal , discrimnating and shows a bigger and more disturbing picture of whats actually occuring as its not soley the ebay platform thats doing this and discriminating aganst the UK and its residents. Now even customer services everywhere are preventing customers on many market place platforms from ability to cobtact customer support , blocking chat facilitys and live chat with uk residents only and not maintaing phone lines so the public residing in the UK can not contact support for help . It is dispicable and people need to speak up and take action against this as you have. Its unacceptable. The UK exsists and should be treated with the same respect ad any other country on the planet not less! The fact it is occuring as you state is highly disturbing.

100 percent agree bought from America through Google and never heard
anything thing from seller just as well I used PayPal and was full refund
but I would not have bought from the website if eBay let me do want to do
and spend my money on items in america its out of order from Ebay they
need to remember they nothing without there costumer service sucks I'm

This rant is complete bolox.  There was an original issue re litemarks and safety standards post Brexit and this was followed up by the UK and its constituent countries not being listed in the Global Priority shipping or the Ebay shipping lists.  This was an admin foul-up and has since been rectified.  If you cant buy from the US Seller then this is more likely due to the sellers' profiles being set either intentionally or unintentionally to exclude the UK, but it could also be because the items being sold are prohibited for international sale/shipping.  I have said numerous times in this thread that the issue for me has been resolved.  I have been able to buy what I want from the USA if and when I need to but more recently I have adopted a buy British mentality especially as the exchange rate is poor and international shipping become more expensive.

Can somebody bring this thread to an end so that my inbox isnt polluted by the same old *bleep*.
