Stopping sellers using Evri

I am sure there will be many like me who are bemused how Evri are still in business.  I have had delivery after delivery fail or arrive late and nothing gets done because sellers keep using them.

I just did a Trust pilot search on Evri UK their one star rating from from 830 reviews is 97% one star, thats not a typo 97% one star.  Everi.co.uk have 3069 reviews on there which are slightly better only 96% one star reviews.  To put this into actual numbers of the 830 reviews  805 were 1 star and of the 3069 reviews 2,946 were 1 star.

So of the 3874 total reviews 3751 were 1 star .  Obviously e-Bay say they can't do anything about it 'as it does not affect their revenue', so the buyers are the only ones who can do anything, by not purchasing items from sellers who ship with Evri.  Sadly that will be part of my check from now on, ship with Evri I will buy elsewhere.

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

you can request a call back from ebay might get the right person ring you, but other than that when you list an item for sale you select what courier you will use

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

I also actively avoid sellers who use Evri, both on ebay and when shopping directly with a store.  There is good reason that they are voted worst courier year after year.

Over the past few years, I have had more items lost or damaged by Evri than I have had delivered without incident.  When things do go wrong, their customer service is shocking.

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

I have used Hermes/Evri for parcels for some years, starting when I was a business seller and sending out way more than I am now as a private seller.
In all that time, I have had one lost, and one damaged (delivery driver threw over a 6' fence onto concrete, and it landed on a corner!). Both times I got compensation fairly quickly and easily.
For deliveries to us our Evri driver is excellent, but I have sent all over the country and apart from the above 2 all have been delivered quickly (some have arrived next day) and safely.
I ordered something online last Thursday afternoon, free delivery using standard Evri - it arrived the next day.

RM are another story 😞

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

personally I've never had a problem with them so are normally my first choice but if a buyer requested me to use a different carrier I would so maybe try that rather than avoid buying something you might want

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

I totally agree with everything you have said. At least with the postman, you know when they are coming around, they will ring your bell and or leave a note. You can even speak to them.

I'd say lucky you if you know when the postman is coming we don't know from one week to the next when ours is coming

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

We've had three deliveries from Evri this year. One arrived ok, the second was completely lost and the third lost for 8 days before turning up and being delivered after a further 2 days, but the package arrived looking like it had been kicked around the depot.

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

I put in my feedback thanks for using Royal Mail. Ebay needs to ban Evri from access to their customers

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

You are going to hate simple delivery.  The buyer doesn't even get told which courier they are being offered.  And if the seller opts out of Evri all their buyers are charged extra for Royal Mail compared  to sellers who offer both.

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

why should those of us that don't have a problem with them not have access, my problem is with RM and never use them unless a buyer requests me to do so

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

I think we're fortunate to have the choice, nowadays - as Royal Mail have had the monopoly, and us over a barrel, for far too long. I'd be between a rock and a hard place, without the sterling service Evri provides in my area - Simon is the bees knees, as I'm sure your son is, too. Other couriers, DPD, and DHL, are also great in my area - the only bad thing about DHL, is that they tend to be rather expensive.

That's hardly fair - if they are loitering at the depot, on company property, waiting for their consignments, they will all be insured to be on those premises, so, they should also be paid, for the time they are spending there - especially, if it is running into hours, that they are waiting there for. It hardly engenders goodwill amongst the workers - that is something, that for some, can bleed into a laissez faire attitude!

Re: Stopping sellers using Evri

Evri are a fantastic company. They leave my parcels on my front door step right next to a large sign saying to put parcels in my ample sized letterbox. This means I don't have the hassle of opening them since they get stolen.
