Sorting by price not working

I was trying to buy certain item, sorted price descending. In results i get something like this:

£175.00
Buy It Now
+£11.00 delivery

--------------------

£104.71
Buy It Now
+£6.65 delivery

---------------------

£305.20
8 bids · Time left5d 2h left (Thu, 20:45)
+£23.75 delivery

First few auctions is sorted by price, but other ones shows random.

THIS IS MISLEADING for customers. I recently bought item, then find cheaper one!!!

Sponsored listings do not sort correctly; sellers are paying for higher search placement by paying additional fee percentages when the item sells.

If that is not the issue you are seeing, can you provide a link to a search that demonstrates the issue?

Dis-ordered price listings happen all the time.  I raised the matter in a community chat with ebay staff a few weeks ago, and I was told to clear the cache to get a better result.  I don't think you should have to do that, but nevertheless, I tried a different, completely clean browser.  Didn't make any difference.  It's frustrating for buyers and very annoying for sellers.  People complain about it all the time but it makes no difference.
