So what do you think has happened? (unexplained delivery errors)

I made a purchase on the 2nd, goods to be delivered to a pick-up point. On the 10th Royal Mail tracking showed the goods hadn't left the post office the seller left them at. Not looking good so I opened a case explaining this, no response. On the 12th I get 3 emails all within 10 mins of each other. The first is from RM saying the goods are out for delivery, the second also from RM saying "Your parcel has reached your local delivery office. We've received a request not to deliver mail to the property your item is addressed to today", and the third email is from eBay saying the goods are out for delivery but showing the delivery address to be my home address and not the pick-up point.

I contacted the seller with screenshots and asked what was going on and to respond. The seller responded last night and denied any knowledge of the RM request to not deliver, or the delivery address confusion. They then submitted a request for eBay to step in on the case and got it put on hold until the 19th. What do you think has gone on here, should I be concerned?

As no-one else as replied:

My guess is the parcel will be delivered to the collection point before the 19th. Not much you can do about it until then anyway.

I have some emails from ebay saying a Royal Mail is "is due to be delivered today" from a month ago. They don't contain any address, so maybe that is new and it's showing the wrong address to you.

Re: So what do you think has happened? (unexplained delivery errors)

Maybe. The 'Out for delivery' email from eBay definitely says 'Your order will be delivered to - (my address)', as do previous ones for different orders, although they were not for delivery to a collection point. Perhaps this is eBay's mistake for using the same email template for collection point orders, still doesn't explain the don't deliver request to RM though. Very odd and needs to be looked into.

The first message could be because the pick up point (locker/shop etc) was closed or inaccessible for the day.
