Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

Hey everyone,

I recently sold some golf clubs and the only postage option available on eBay was Parcelforce since the package is larger. However, I've run into an issue. While ParcelForce confirmed that the package was posted via the post office, there hasn't been any movement or updates since then.

I'm wondering who is responsible for the package at this point. Is it still my responsibility as the seller, or does it fall under eBay? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

what’s the best way to contact eBay?

Thanks!

Re: Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

Are you tracking this item with eBay's tracking info?  This is highly unreliable,  always playing catch up with the actual courier's tracking.

If you used your own tracking then it's your responsibility for any undelivered item,  eBay only take over any refunds if Simple Delivery is used, and an item is not received.

It's Sunday,  so not a lot of movement will show today,  only act or come back to us for advice,  should your buyer open a case for item not received,  until then,  presume all is well ! 😊

Re: Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

Parcelforce label was purchased through eBay ( not a packlink) and I don’t see that being a simple delivery

Re: Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

If it wasn't a Simple Delivery transaction then should the item not reach the buyer and tracking cannot prove this,  you will have to refund,  then use your proof of purchase to claim a refund for a lost item with Parcelforce.

However,  as above,  please do not worry too soon, tracking rarely updates on time, and your buyer will waste no time in messaging you should the item not arrive.   No news is good news !

Tracking confirm only drop off at the post office and that’s it.

EBay doesn’t allow simple delivery for oversized packages. DHL hasn’t been available

Truly you are worrying too soon!  Nothing you can do to speed up the process once an item is dispatched,  the item is in the hands of the courier.

One thing I recommend do not message the buyer asking if they have received their item!  Just leave it all for now,  as said before,  you'll soon hear from the buyer if their item does not arrive.

Come back to us if that should happen,  if you need help how then to proceed, but I'm sure this won't happen !

Re: Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

I appreciate your comment. These clubs were sold through a promoted listing, meaning eBay profits from the sale. Therefore, I believe it's reasonable to expect customer service support from them.

Re: Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

eBay's rules on MBG Money Back Guarantee and help for buyers and sellers alike is simple,  if tracking shows delivery then eBay will protect the seller and close a case so the seller will not have to refund.

Equally,  say you are the buyer, and do not receive your item,  and the seller cannot prove it with tracking you would expect a refund.  eBay is not to blame here,  they are just the selling platform,  it has to be the courier who would then need to refund the seller when shown the proof of posting.

Re: Sending and tracking with Parcelforce

Since Royal Mail integrated with ParcelForce,  ParcelForce collections/deliveries will more often be late.

We've not been able to get ParcelForce to collect our items ever since as it's now the job of the postie which isn't ideal for any of them considering the size of their vans (Our parcels are big)

We now take all of our large parcels directly to the PF depot (which  thankfully just down the road)  because if the postie collects they can stay in the RM depot for days before PF collects from there.

Taking to a post office also has this problem, so check tracking in a couple of days if it was posted end of last week.
