I found an item that I wanted to purchase and attempted to pay for it. Seller has several items listed on the site. However, ebay states that the items are not for sale. Why is this? Should they not be removed from the site?

Hi @suedonym2 ,
Thank you for your post.
I understand this is frustrating when you want to buyer the items in question. This type of message that items are not for sale for a specific seller are usually related to an issue on the sellers side that they need to resolve.
Thank you,
Kat

basically it means the sellers account is restricted from selling, till they sort out whatever issue it is, had the same problem when ebay kept refusing to recognise my VAT number.
the amount of similar questions I was getting like yours was driving me mad, be better if they hid the listings totally till the account issue is resolved, but that would be a good idea, and ebay and good ideas go together like military and intelligence.

Ebay has some very strange and inexplicable policies that seem to be enforced randomly and without explanation. I do not see much evidence of any real intelligence being applied.
