Proving my age without a credit card!

I see others have already asked this question (“I do not have a credit card, is there any other way to prove my age to eBay?”), but received little relevant response, with all manner of ‘real world’ suggestions (from joining porn sites, to showing your driving license!), none of which relate to the exclusive eBay setup.

I can only assume the answer to be ‘No’.

so much for living in an ‘inclusive’ world.

They also do not accept American Express. So not only are non credit card holders excluded but those that only hold AMEX are excluded as well. I have been with them for 22 years and am certainly taking my business elsewhere due to their narrow vision of themselves.

Yes, it seems they're more than aware they're excluding many from their site, i purchased the desired item elsewhere without challenge, it's left a sour taste in my mouth though🤬

Proving my age without a credit card!

Pay off a credit card every monthly payment day and (1) you don't pay any interest (2) your card provider pays you via a points system or similar.

Cards often offer deals e.g. discounts off breakdown cover, insurance, or extra cashback on large kitchen appliances.

Credit card points effectively give a refund on your purchases. For me, my annual lump sum earned from points it's a way of keeping down overall bills or, in recent years, of going on a totally free (or "free") long holiday each year; even better when I bought a replacement kitchen and car (my card's phone assistant unofficially advised me to use my credit card, to get the points; I'd originally planned to pay by debit card).

Due to credit cards' high interest rate, it doesn't make sense to use it to have optional debt as there are other methods that charge far less interest.
