Outside promotions on ordering an item

I bought an item today through ebay. Because of this I have won some goodies one of which is 50% off AA breakdown cover. However the offer is disingenuous. I currently am a member of AA Breakdown until March next year. The person I spoke to said they were doing a Black Friday promotion on their website offering this to attract non-members & it's limited to 60 days from today. The promotion after buying the item does NOT mention this, therefore you're advertising a promotion with the wrong facts which is illegal. Whhat are you offering me as a good will replacement?

This sounds like an affiliate offering that many websites are starting to do.

i assume it’s this offer

that page shows a * that further down the page makes clear its new customers only.

only you can advise what you saw, but normally there will be something on the ad that would state new customers only terms and conditions apply.

in addition, this is just a forum of other eBay users, not a direct line to eBay itself so no one can offer you anything. I highly doubt eBay customer services would even be aware of the affiliate promo. You’d be better off complaining to the AA.
