Non communicative seller

I recently bid on 5 coins all listed as individual items.  I was the only bidder so I requested a combined postage invoice from the seller. I have messaged the seller 5 times now and the only response from the seller was to tell me to pay immediately if I wanted delivery before Xmas. The seller is wanting £24.20 in postage for coins with a total value of £4.95.  Any suggestions on how to proceed would be welcomed as I don't want to impact my 100% feedback

Non communicative seller

I have had this myself, whereby the cost of postage is extortionate to the value of items purchased.

If the seller is refusing to combine postage unfortunately as per eBay ( C.S) they apparently have the right  - albeit morally it is not just.

If your items purchased are a low price , have you  calculated  if they are still good value even with the cost of the postage?

If not, I would ask the seller to post each item individually,  so 5 parcels sent to your address being as you are paying for 5 lots of postage fees... they may reconsider to combine or offer a discount for multiple purchases. You do have the right to request this because you are paying for that service,  if they then post in one parcel,  take it up with eBay as postage fee extortion is frowned upon. If they do not honour your request you do have the option to cancel.

It does seem very unfair and appears to be a way for  sellers to gain more funds by not discounting or combining postage, particularly if the item(s) has sold for less than they thought they would.

Appeal to their good nature... if there is other items they have listed, express interest etc etc... and request again.

Good Luck...

There maybe others here with further advice much better than mine.. I am just going on my experience.
