Hi all, I need some advice, please regarding a watch that I bought a couple of days ago.
I was in touch with a seller who had a watch for sale for £400, so I was asking a few questions about it, and they told me it had just come back from the dealer where it has just been serviced.
I said I was interested but that I was still looking around to see if I could find a better deal.
Two days ago, I found one, from a different seller, and I bought it for £365.
The more I looked at the photos though, the more I had a feeling it was the same watch, as the description also said just serviced.
Yesterday, the seller I had been talking to first, sent me some strange messages asking if I was still interested and not to mess around, so I asked if they had the watch advertised elsewhere, but they said "there's only one seller with my name" and they had advertised it for £380 originally, but had increased the price due to the recent service.
I said I was sorry I had already found another watch and left it at that.
Today I receive a message from that first seller with a screenshot of my purchase of the watch, asking if that was me.
So I replied stating my confusion that maybe they had it advertised on two different accounts, but forgot to amend the one from which I bought it from, but pointing out their previous message saying it had only been for sale in one place.
Now I haven't heard anything back.
I get a feeling they are the person I actually bought the watch from, but unhappy with the price they received, and I get the feeling they're not happy about sending the watch.
I'm thinking about cancelling the sale anyway, but not sure if I should just go ahead and do it or get eBay involved just in case there's something dodgy going on (and maybe cover myself).
Any help greatly appreciated

The reason the person might be asking you for your address is that they are using simple delivery.
When you make a sale with simple delivery you get a confirmation email showing very limited delivery details of the buyer. in order to get the full address you have to log into the account you sold the item on and generate the simple delivery label or click 'print invoice' on the order details page.
If they're logged into the wrong account they wont be able to get your address.
Regarding the feedback, it only says there is 7 as it only tracks ones in the last year. If you look further down there are hundreds of feedback. Most are from sellers they have bought things from but 4 of those feedbacks are from buyers who bought a watch from them who all seemed to have a positive experience.
I think they might genuinely not understand they have two accounts and that they're logged into the wrong one

I'm surprised your username is not making him feel a little nervous - cop.
Gmail lets you add a +tag after your username in your email address. This is something I use on Ebay so that i can meet the rules of having a different email address.
Example: if your email is a****@g****.c*m, you can use a****+ebay@g****.c*m
All messages sent to these variations still arrive in your main inbox (a****@g****.c*m).
I'm sure other emails have the same functionality. The only problem is that when you respond to an email sent via the extension, the reply comes from the one without the extension so can get very confusing. And he seems easily confused. Do not send your address. Ebay don't allow it anyway.

Hi all and thank you so much for your help and support. I've managed to get my money back through eBay, as they weren't able to get any proof of dispatch from the seller (or something along those lines).
Now this is resolved, there's a link allowing me to leave feedback. I did start to write something earlier but I'm a bit stuck as I'm not sure how to describe our interaction - for instance every time I wrote to the seller I got all responses from a different account, therefore technically the seller wasn't answering my messages.
Clearly, my feeling from this experience is that this was the same person, but I want to keep it factual, while at the same time giving other people who might be dealing with this seller in the future, to be cautious based on my experience.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

This is my opinion.
I would NOT leave any feedback.
That just gives the seller more reasons to reply to the feedback, message you again and continue the drama.
I would just leave it.
If I received any more messages from either of the 'watch' accounts, I would simply delete them unread.

That item is collection only !.

The item as stated is collection in person. That means that YOU need to go to the sellers home/or wherever the item is and collect the item yourself. They will not be posting it to you.

This is a forum for Ebay members like you.
You are not communicating with your seller or Ebay.
You can either contact the seller - send them a message through Ebay - or, after 7 days, you can start a case saying you have not received your item.
Find the email you got from Ebay when you paid to contact the seller or open a case.
If you bought as a guest without having an account, the seller won't realise you are the buyer if you message them from the account you have opened now.
