I ordered and paid for a toy for my son that isn’t available in the uk anymore. I checked out as a guest during the transaction and have still not received the item yet.
because I hadn’t heard anything from the seller i signed up to an eBay account because when i tried to contact the seller through the link in my email it was saying that I needed to create an account first
now that I have an account I still can’t contact the seller or contact eBay either because the purchase isn’t linked with my account because I made the order before opening my account. Any advice??

You should be able to initiate a not received request through the comfirmation email that you have received. You won't be able to do it through the account you have created as guest purchases are dealt with separately .
Here are the instructions that eBay provides for reporting that a guest purchase hasn't arrived:
You have up to 30 calendar days from the estimated delivery date to report that an item hasn't arrived.
The seller should respond within 3 business days to provide a delivery update, offer a replacement, or give you a refund. If you're getting a refund, it will go back to your original payment method. Refunds are typically available within 3-5 business days.
Here's what to do:
You'll receive a confirmation email once you've created the request, which will include a link to view your request details. You can also check the status of your request by going to View order details in your order confirmation email, then selecting Resolutions.
If that still doesn't work then you will need to contact eBay Customer Service. You can request a call back using the link below. It is best to do so first thing in the morning so that you get someone from the team in Ireland who are more knowledgeable and have greater authority.

If they have other items for sale you should be able to message them directly from each/any listing.
Explain who you are, adding proof screenshots would probably be best and see what they say.

It sounds like you're in a bit of a tricky situation with the purchase, but don't worry, there are a few ways to resolve it. Here's some advice on how to move forward:
Contact eBay Support Directly: Even though your order wasn't linked to your account initially, you should still be able to contact eBay support for assistance. You can reach out to them via:
Provide Order Details: When you contact eBay or the seller (once you're able to), make sure to have the following information ready:
Contact the Seller via eBay: Once you're able to link your account or contact the seller, reach out directly to them to ask for an update on the item. Explain that you placed the order as a guest and are now experiencing difficulty contacting them.
Check eBay's Buyer Protection: If you're unable to get in touch with the seller or your item doesn’t arrive, eBay's Buyer Protection may be able to assist in securing a refund. You can file a claim under the eBay Money Back Guarantee if the item doesn’t arrive or if there are issues with the transaction.
Consider Opening a Case: If a reasonable amount of time has passed and you're still without the item, you can escalate the issue by opening a case with eBay. They can investigate the matter and potentially issue a refund if the item is not delivered as promised.
By following these steps, you should be able to get some clarity on your order and find a solution. I hope this helps, and that your son gets his toy soon!
