Sold an item recently as collection only, just want rid so was only 99p.
They paid then eventually got in contact. I passed on my address and number and we had a call and arranged for collection today. They called saying double checked measurements and it won't fit.
Annoying but still, not gonna leave negative feedback. She asked me to cancel the ebay sale but I said I think they have to do it.
They don't appear to use ebay much so doubt they'll get to it any time soon. So would it be better to just cancel it myself and issue the refund?

Buyers can request to cancel an order. It then comes to the seller to accept or reject the request.
So you can cut out that above process by just cancelling the order, stating “buyer requested to cancel”.
Personally, if I didn’t know, I would have thought the same as you.
It seems strange to allow the seller to cancel an order, stating the buyer requested to cancel. It is open to abuse. Which, in my experience, it is abused!

Buyers are unable to cancel a transaction.
They do not have access to your account.
Cancel as Buyer Requested.
"not gonna leave negative feedback"... that's good because there is no way to do so.

Thanks for the reply. To my surprise, they remembered to actually request the cancellation themselves.

This was wrong. The buyer put in a request to cancel, which I've now found they can do, then you as the seller just accept it.
