Brought a Asus ROG Strix Gaming Laptop G713PV, Chinese instead of English Model

As title says "Brought a Asus ROG Strix Gaming Laptop G713PV, Chinese instead of English Model" I brought this off ebay and didn't get a issue for 2 months but my windows crashed one day, so only option at the time is to do a cloud recovery from bios, everything went fine from download to finally install of windows 11, but as soon as I got to the setup of windows it was in chinese, so had to use my google translate to finally get into the windows, found out this was a windows 11 chinese version. so I phoned ASUS and give them the serial  number and found out the laptop was registered in china and then imported to UK, and their can't do a thing. their can't change the location from china to uk or even let me download the english uk version of the cloud recovery. I can install my own windows 11 via a dongle, but I was told in the end with any updates it would always revert back to the chinese version of windows. any one ever had this issue? thanks

It's the OS - Windows 11 - that needs adjusting to your requirements, rather than the laptop itself.

In English the route "Settings > Time & language > Language & region" will bring up the page as seen here

from whence you select the desired parameters, although as your display is in Sinese characters then I would recommend seeking some online help

It's a common issue with imports and why I always get UK based manufacturers to ship for me (even if they have their warehouses abroad they have to install to specification). To do a deep wipe of the machine does take some knowledge and effort but the language swap should work a cheap fix, feel free to send me a message if the advice of ed_58611 doesn't work for everything (I've found it sometimes only changes a few things and due to the machine still being localised elsewhere will default to X language for certain things).

I work in Japan so half of my stuff is localised to there!

When you do a bios cloud recovery, it will always install the windows 11 chinese version, and this is in the system menu. and for some reason you can't add another Language unless you pay to upgrade the version of windows to pro, but if you do this the next time I would have to do a cloud recovery I would lose that upgrade. even if I change the Language to English, I was told in the end it would always revert back to the chinese as that is the main Language of the laptop.

yeah any advise would be great, I can't add Language unless I pay money to upgrade windows but it would always says in the system "windows 11 chinese version" which I can't remove unless this laptop can be based in the uk so it pulls the cloud recovery from within our servers.

Try also through the control panel "Control Panel > Add a Language > Advanced settings" and then clicking ""Apply language settings to the welcome screen, system accounts, and new user accounts" if you haven't done so already.
