Authenticity Guarantee

So I'm looking at a pair of brand new Jordan 4 Infrared's at a bargain price and although they are listed with the Authenticity Guarantee I'm a little curious as to how good the 'experts' are for this reason....

There is an online site selling them for £160 brand new (way way lower than most other outlets), but in the small print state that they are 'UA' (UA stands for Unauthorized Authentic. - They are replicas of authentic sneakers made with the same materials and design and usually in the same factory. - They are not legally authorized by the original brand).

So, would these pass ebays Authenticity Guarantee check?

Once trainers have been authorised by the authenticator they are given a tag which proves their authenticity. This tag, as long as it is not removed, is your proof they are genuine so if you go on to sell the again you should be able to prove their authenticity with the tag.

Yes I get that ebays team may class them as genuine and ebay state that they check materials/soles etc etc, however the online site selling them for £160 state that they are UNAUTHORIZED AUTHENTIC, made in the same factory/same materials/same quality etc but unathorized by Nike/Jordan so basically copies hence the cheaper price. My worry is that if they are made to the same quality they'll pass ebays checks even though they're not genuine

I would imagine that is a risk you run wherever you buy from unless you buy from an actual outlet that specialises in Jordans. But that is what you pay for isn't it.

Fakes of anything are not allowed to be sold on ebay but of course, policing the site is impossible.

If you want to be sure of buying the genuine article buy from a shop specialising in that particular item.

Just for the record, Nike dont allow factories to use their templates, materials, and IP to make UA footwear, they actively seek people who are making high end designs of Jordans and spend million every single year on stopping fakes. The factories the Nike use are not going to risk their contracts by making some UA for a few thousand profit when they could lose a multi million dollar contract. Hope you havent purchased them if you are wanting genuine pairs.

To answer your question, the experts are good, obviously fakes get through, but they also get through on StockX, Goat, klekt. All the trainer groups I am in (I have the bad habit of collecting Jordans) all pretty much agree that eBay are currently best, this could well change though. I've had a couple of issues with wrong shoes getting sent to customers which is annoying but if they cant find the right pairs you will get a refund. Also you can always return if you are not happy, you just use the INAD option.

Also I've just had a look through the listings and none seem to be that much cheaper, unless you have purchased them already, watched out as they do come in PS and GS sizing so if somebody was wanting to be a little sneaky and listed them in mens category but really they are the PS UK 11 the price would look good, they would most likely be rejected at AG.
