I downloaded the app to get a £10 voucher and there is no sign of it anywhere. Obviously the automated customer service number or chat doesn't allow to speak to anyone so there nobody to guide me how to get the voucher. I am starting to think that this is just a complete lie.

Hi @mahta_2383 ,
Thank you for your post.
My steps with locating the voucher in My eBay is not the app. Its logging into your account through a mobile browser to the desktop version.
On the app on the menu at the bottom of the page tap on home and this usually shows promo codes. They will have a to the coupon box to click where the code can be copied.
On the android app you can tap on the inbox option in the menu at the bottom of the page and this shows notifications which shows promos codes. On IOS app tap on the notifications in the same menu at the bottom of the page.
Thank you,
Kat

I had a full on argument with a chat agent about this. They refused to admit that the pop up saying that you will get a discount via the app does not mention anything about £50 requirement of orders. It is a total con and I will be writing to the ASA about it. But eBay really do not give a 5h1t.

@whitepeopledancing, you're right, the popup doesn't stipulate but it does say "T&C's apply" as a link. You need to click on that T&Cs link so I'm pretty sure that it complies with ASA regs. This is a screenshot of the popup.
How it works is, you're on the full website version of ebay and add something to your basket. That triggers this popup to appear. The voucher will already be on your My Ebay Summary page but you may not have been on that page to notice it, hence the popup. The QR code is just a link to the app, you don't need to use it as you can just get the app on your phone the normal way.
If you click on the T&Cs, you get this page: Terms & Conditions App Coupon | eBay.co.uk which tells you that the voucher and its terms are on your My Ebay Summary page. Here's the direct link to that page: Summary | Myebay | eBay
Below is a screenshot of my own summary page which currently has a voucher at the top (code blanked out as it's mine and I'm using it).
Like anything, there's always T&Cs and I'm guessing ebay, like any other big company, will make sure they're just the right side of legislation.
You can always see if you have any active vouchers by going to your My Ebay Summary page using the link above. You don't need to wait for a popup. Any active vouchers and their terms are always there.
Once you've seen that you've got a voucher, you can add items to your basket on the full website then go on the app just to checkout and pay if you want. Once items are in your basket, follow my instructions at post #18 above.
It's actually a pretty good saving if you do have fifty quid of items to buy as it can be used for multpile cheap items checked out together to make the fifty quid, not just one single £50 item.

The voucher no comes through via email or text. You have to spend £50 or over to use it. There's always a catch!!

It is definitely a scam. When I click on the notification about the discount it won't even open it and says it's out of the activation period, it's the 12th today and should be usable until the 13th. I've even tried just copying the code from the Web page into the app and it says wrong code so ebay have *bleep*ed up. I have 50 quid of stuff in the basket but won't be ordering it now I'll go elsewhere.

I have the same problem. I copied the code but doesn't allow me to apply anywhere. Makes no sense. Code value until today.

It's absolutely not a scam although it's not the best organised discount.
@austriasiegfried the point where you add the voucher code is in the second screenshot on post #18.
@havitoldulately I also had a code that expires at midnight tonight (13th) and I've just used it this evening with no issues so it's very strange that yours won't work. The only thing I can think of which can cause an invalid code is if you've previously added it to a basket then not completed the purchase. That usually registers wrongly as the code being used when it hasn't been. I would contact CS before midnight tonight so they can look into it before it does expire.

No, that's what eBay say and it's not there or anywhere else. It does seem to be a scam.

@mickpatry have you tapped on Notifications as in my first screenshot in post #18 above? That's where you find the voucher on the app.

@apdutt1 And did you get the voucher popup? If not then go to your Summary page here: Summary | Myebay | eBay. If it hasn't expired then the voucher and it's code will be at the top. Is it there?

no scam! all vouchers come with there rules which must be followed. like your only allowed to purchase in APP or you have to spend certain amount etc. plus at times you have to input the voucher code in yourself.

You guys, as in eBay,
Do us all a favour and stop offering discounts and vouchers that are so hidden and obtuse to find. If you are going to offer anything in future, just make it easy, it's should not be detective search.
