I am trying to report a possible fraudulent advert but when I insert the item numbers ebay comes back with item numbers invalid and I can't continue

Why do you think it is fraudulent?

there is a report button on each listing, why are you inserting the listing number?

there are two posts advertising the same item, same photos, one as working, one as for parts, one for £150 buy now, one £50 auction, one in Manchester, one in Wales,is it possible that one person has used anothers photos? but why

and when you go to the report button, the list doesn't give enough options and there doesn't seem to be an overide, and when you get to the end it asks for item numbers

Buyers are covered by MBG, so as long as they pay via paypal, will get refunds if there is a problem.

eBay have a library of photos members can use so identical photos and descriptions will pop up. However, there are also some members who ' hijack' another's photos and description, they may have that member's permision to do so, they may not.

As above, everyone paying through paypal checkout will be fully covered for a refund if necessary under eBay's 30 day MBG

hey I'm just trying to help out here, it might be nothing.These are not library pics, these are pics that even show accessories and specific damage. all I wanted to do was send a message to ebay and say maybe you should look at this. It's a pain if you do have to recover money, or if you miss out on another item because you think you've bought one. All I want is an option to bypass tick boxes and get straight to the source

Why are you not reporting from the listing? There is never any need to insert an item number, it sounds as though it has already been removed.

John, thanks. Impossible to say which was the fraudulent listing so I chose A and followed the report thread, it did ask me for an item number. It appears that it may have been B and it has indeed been removed now. It is still a problem with tick boxes in that they frequently don't answer the questions you want to ask.
