When it comes to buying Gemstones, why is EBAY so happy to allow adverts which state the gems are real or natural when in fact they are man-made and fake?????Buyers MUST have all stones tetsed but must also be aware that fakes are becoming very convincing and even experts ar being fooled. Its only if stones are subsequently cut and polished that their true status becomes known.Perhaps the selling of all Gemstones on EBAY should be banned otherwise EBAY is also profiting from sales of FAKE and fraudulent items via their commission.
The O/P asks why ebay allow fakes.
Simple really..
The o/P goes to great lengths to tell us even experts are been fooled.
So how do ebay examine the goods before a seller lists them.
Does a seller have to go to eBay headquarters and sit with a expert.
you blame eBay - where's your evidence that eBay know the gems are fake?
If you don't know they are fake how would others?
You don't have to waste your time, nobody making you buy or even scanning for gems, so perhaps eBay is not for you?
op appears not to open cases, just leaves plenty of negs instead...
Please appreciate that eBay cannot see the items people list to check any authenticity whether it is a gemstone or in fact any item.
That is why they have their 30 day MBG, so if a buyer does buy something not as described, paying with Paypal, ensures them of a full refund.
If on opening these cases it comes to escalation, it gives the seller a defect on their account, it does not take too many defects to close a Private seller's account down permanently.
