Seller has asked for email address and telephone number as there is a problem with weight and dimensions to send it with Hermes
and wants to arrange delivery with another courier!
Is it safe to give personal details in such circumstances?

Couriers do not need any of your contact details. All they need is your physical address.
The seller cannot supply these details to a courier without your express written permission, as it would break strict data protection laws. Just tell the seller to enter a string of zeros or make something up. If that isn't accepted, he should enter his own email addy and phone number.
