Seller pestering me to remove negative feedback after they cancelled transcation with no explanation

Afternoon all,

I wonder if someone can advise me....

A couple of weeks agoi I left negative feedback for a seller who cancelled my transaction 4 days after I'd paid. (They were selling 5 of the same item, I bought the 4th and then someone bought the last unti after me).

Several days after I left feedback they contacted me explaining that the item had been shipped to them and arrived damaged. As it took then 4 days to cancel I can only assume they did not have the item in their possession when I paid. They also didn't cancel the last transaction which would have seemed fair to me - 'first come first served'.

Anyway, they have now sent two more messages asking me to remove the negative feedback but, given the way they went about the cancellation (Just a generic "Your order has been cancelled from ebay") and given it sounds to me like they didn't even have the item in their possession when I paid and cherry picked which transaction they would cancel I fell that my negative should still stand.

Does this sound right? I don't think I am being harsh - I'm just getting annoyed now that they keep asking me to remove the feedback.

Thanks in advcance for any advice.

Having checked the feedback in question I don't think that there's anything out of order about it - it's probably more likely to be the case that the seller doesn't want a permanent negative feedback on his/her account and is therefore attempting to harrass you into changing the feedback.  Stand your ground - state quite firmly that the feedback accurately reflects how you felt that the transaction went and that you have no intention of changing it.  At any rate, you can't remove the feedback yourself - only eBay would be able to do that, and even then the seller would need an extremely good reason for asking for the feedback to be removed.  For example, if the feedback had included a racist or sexist remark, had contained expletives or had made reference to an eBay Case having to be opened against the seller in order to get a refund then eBay would have removed the comment swiftly at the seller's request.  However, nothing of the sort appears in the feedback so the seller's requests are entirely unjustified.

I note from your feedback that you also use the same account to sell on as well as to buy items.  Therefore, if you have not already done so make sure that you add this seller's User ID to your Blocked Bidders List so that he/she cannot try to sabotage any of your own listings or buy something from you and then leave you some negative feedback in return.  If you click on this link http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/ebayisap/.dll?bidderblocklogin then you should be able to access the relevant page in order to block the seller.  Add his/her User ID to your Blocked Bidders List and then click on the blue "Submit" button when you have done so.  That way you will be able to eliminate the risk of this seller trying to disrupt your listings, or making a purchase with the specific intention of leaving you some negative feedback as "punishment" for the negative feedback that you left for him/her.

If the seller becomes really problematic then contact eBay Customer Support and report the seller for harrassment.  If eBay were to receive enough complaints of a similar nature then they would probably be more inclined to take action against the seller, although they wouldn't tell you what action, if anything, they actually took against this seller.
