Some time ago, ebay used to have a filter for weeding out trade and private sellers for vehicles, but this was removed in an 'improvement' to the system.
I'm personally checking the motorcycle section frequently, and certain dealers are dumping literally hundreds of bikes at a time in the category, sometimes repeating listings mere hours later.
I'm sick and tired of trawling thru the same old **bleep**, over and over again, and I don't want to buy from a dealer anyway- I'd just go to their website if I did; they all have them.
The best deals are from private individuals on the things I'm looking for. There is a legal requirement in the UK for a trade seller to disclose their status, so this filter can easily be put back in. Also, close inspection should be paid to yhe number of items a seller lists in the same category and how often- some traders try to pose as individuals. Not rockeet science, is it, ebay?
But judging by the amount of times the scammers get on, with 1000's of pirated listings, maybe I'm expecting too much? Hah.
Anyhow,,, anyone think this is worthwhile? And how to persuade them to put it back again?
And while I'm at it, why are the cars and motorcycle listings now restricted to only 50 listings, when it used to be 200 per page if selected?
Beside the search button, there is a link marked 'advanced'.
Click on this, scroll down to 'seller type' and select from business or private sellers.
