Seller de-activated account. Please help!

Hi,

I purchased an item of clothing and upon receiving it I realised that the descprion was incorrect. I've headed back onto ebay and submitted a returns request, it was rejected by the seller. I've now looked at this in more details and the seller has deactivated their account and when I try to contact eBay through their help centre it tells me that a returns is already open for the product, I follow the links it offers and it shows that my return case is closed.... Any help on this would be much appreciated.

It looks as if you opened the wrong case....

a seller CANNOT reject a not as described case, but a private seller can refuse change of mind return...

had you opened the correct case, the seller would have been forced to send you a prepaid postage label for the return...

as said, you have one last chance of receiving a refund by opening a case via PayPal, but you will have to return at your own expense...

eBay are currently actively removing items which may be deemed to be profiteering or price gouging due to the current COVID19 crisis

• Where an item is removed by eBay either for a compromised account or an item not permitted for sale on eBay then the case procedure to obtain a refund is different.

• The item being removed means that the payment details are no longer linked to the purchase in eBay as that transaction has been made null & void.

• The procedure is therefore either to phone Customer Services & request they open a case on your behalf or to move the Money Back Guarantee case over to Paypal.

• Log into Paypal & find the transaction

• Open a case for item not received for not as described

• Add in the case notes that the item was removed by eBay.

• You can escalate the transaction after 2 days for Paypal to step in to resolve the case

Open a claim for not as described in Paypal and escalate after 8 days but before 20.You would have to return at your own expense by trackable means which is not so easy at the moment.
