Seller cancelled order with no communication

Bought item last week Buy it Now, paid immediately. Have been waiting for tracking details but instead received a refund this morning and message from Ebay that the reason was "Buyer aked to cancel the order". I certainly did not!

It's a newbie seller and I'm guessing they regret they hadn't sold it for more. OK, so I'm not out of pocket but am annoyed at their action but can't leave feedback to warn others due to them cancelling the order.

Any suggestions?

Report them to Ebay for using "Buyer Requested Cancellation." That gives them an EBay Final Value Fee Credit and avoids them receiving a Damaging Defect on their Account for a Seller Initiated Cancellation.

You should be able to leave Feedback. It has been playing up this week. There has been a lot of complaints on here regarding 'Not being able to Leave Feedback.

Try from the Site Map at the very foot of the Page see COMMUNITY then Feedback Forum.

Just to add that the transaction is still in your Purchase History page, so you can leave feeback as normal.  When a transaction is cancelled, or a case opened, it's moved to the very foot of the page. Just scroll all the way down to the very bottom to see it. 🙂

Just because it has been refunded Leave feedback will not be in the usual place BUT look in MORE ACTIONS, or top left of the item page.

Leave negative Feedback, just say "Seller did not honour sale" and mark down the stars.

By just being brief there is no reason then why seller can get feedback removed.

Seller cancelled in his way to get his selling fee refunded, but he still pays the Paypal Fee. It may not work for him as all Buyer Requestsfor cancellation have to be made through the buyer sending a Cancellation Request, which you did not do.
