Bought item, paid by paypal, after few days get message saying it was cancelled by seller. Been 24 hours and no refund. Item no longer appears listed in my purchased item list (so nowhere to say 'item not recieved'). The message just points to cancellation details, which doesn't say anything or let me do anything.
What do I do if refund doesn't appear in paypal soon? Surely it should go through almost immediately?
(I'm not that bothered by not recieving item - these are not normal times and maybe going to the post office isn't an "essential journey" - just as long as I get my money back!)
Open a case for item not received in Paypal, escalate after 2 days and you wiill be refunded. Don't wait any longer for the seller to refund, sounds as if they are just stringing you along.
If you've received a cancellation email from Ebay, you've been refunded. It happens automatically when a seller cancels an Ebay transaction. The transaction is still on your Purchase History page (just moved to the foot of the page) so you can also see that information there.
Refunds go back to source. If you paid using your PayPal account, it will normally appear in your PayPal account within hours (but do bear in mind that PayPal is coping with vastly increased online shopping, so transactions may be delayed). If you paid with a debit card, it will take up to 7 days to clear into your bank account. If you paid with a credit card, it will take up to 30 days to appear on your cc statement. These are the banking industry norms.
Seems to be settled now. The first message from ebay didn't say anything about a refund, and there was no refund in paypal account. Ebay's message really wasn't very informative, just said it was cancelled and told me to respond on the cancellation details page, which then gave me no way to respond to anything (gave me two options - either "I haven't paid", or "I've paid and had a refund" - neither of which was true, but then the button to choose either was disabled anyway).
I messaged the seller then a second message confirmed the refund. No big deal, I've no gripe with the seller as it turns out, but ebay's messaging really leaves a lot to be desired.
Unless seller can invent a good reason for refunding, they still have to pay te selling fee,so just go for the refund.
If item isnot in your purchases then it has been removed by ebay, they say they have remoed 6,000,000 items.
