Just lately when serching for items for my car the results come up as usual, when i click on a link to a product and then enter my car details i get the message " This item does not fit ***** "
This happens even if i include my car make and model in the initial search.
At first i thought it may be " one of those things " so i did random searches for items i did not need but still stating my car in the search box.
EVERY result that comes up states the item will not fit my car ! EVEN if the advert says it will !
What the bleep is going on ?
How are people expected to be able to find and buy items if all the results state they will not fit ?
Sellers must be missing out on a lot of sales because of this.
Come on eBay, get your act together and sort this out or, like many of my friends, i will be forced to go to Amazon for my needs.
This issue began just before christmas last year, i'm only just mentioning it as i thought, rather naively it seems, that eBay would have sorted it out before now.
@Anonymous wrote:1 I am NOT in Sri Lanka - where do you get this information from ?
2 I do NOT want to sell on eBay UK or any other eBay platform.
3 The ONLY links i get for customer service is a phone number, nothing else.
4 What is a rating of under 96%, what does that mean ?
5 I am NOT selling and my buyer rating is and always has been 100%
Can people not get thier facts straight before posting a reply ?
If you look at the post that @plpmr was responding to in the Comments section, you'll see that the text quoted above was preceded with the User ID @areo2002. Therefore, the post in question that appears to have resulted in you posting the response quoted above was not aimed at you, but at a completely different user, as was made clear by the use of that person's User ID at the start of the response.
If you take the time to click on the "View Listings" link of the User ID for the person specifically mentioned in @plpmr 's response you will see that the person in question is indeed based in Sri Lanka, and at the time of posting this response has a positive feedback rating of less than 96%.
You state that you don't sell and your buyer rating is and has always been 100%. It is not possible for buyers who have never sold anything on eBay to have anything less than 100% positive feedback, as eBay forbid sellers from leaving neutral or negative feedback for buyers, even in cases whereby the seller can truthfully claim that the transaction was not a positive experience from his or her own point of view. This has been the case for over a decade now, as prior to that rule being imposed some sellers were abusing the right to leave feedback and threatening buyers with bad feedback unless they left them positive feedback. Therefore, eBay removed the right for sellers to leave buyers anything other than positive feedback.
Having considered all of the above, if you think about the matter further you ought to realise that despite your "Get your facts straight" remark, @plpmr actually did get his/her facts straight before posting the response you refer to. It was you who made the error in thinking that his post was directed at you.
hi,
ebay is a trusted online service and you can find the right item in the right pile. Also, if no seller is available, you can let the coustermer care know what you need.
That reply wasn't made to you. It seems you're not familiar with the way forums work, so raise your eyes to see the (very strange) post @plpmr replied to. It's the one that sticks out further to the left than the replies nested below it. If @plpmr was talking to you, they would have @ you into the conversation as I've just done below. 🙂

Not a problem I've personally come across, and I've seen no other posts complaining about such. So I suspect the problem may be at your end. Try logging out, clearing your History etc, rebooting your device, and logging back in.
If no joy, what browser are you using...? If IE, its no longer compatible with any website. If it helps, I use Firefox (on a laptop, and I don't use the app).
If still no joy, contact Ebay. They won't see your post as no-one from Ebay comes here. The Community boards are for the sole use of ebayers to help one another out. You'll find Live Chat and request-a-callback available in Help & Contact.

Sorry that my suggestions weren't useful.
I find Ebay's Search to be excellent, and Ebay as a whole to be far and away the best and safest shopping platform of all. The absolute worst by a country mile, and for a whole variety of reasons, is the river. I closed my account there some time ago, as did most folk I know, and will never open another.
@Anonymous
I was obliquely referring to the second longest river on the planet, which has the same name as the selling platform you referred to earlier and which you're leaving Ebay for.
Search is still working brilliantly for me. Have you contacted Ebay yet, as I suggested...? If you request a callback, they're normally able to do just that within a few minutes.
