No reply to my enquiry re an item I was interested in buying

Why do people not answer a question about an item they have for sale? I wanted to know the area an item had to be collected from but the seller never bothered to respond. The listing has just ended - without selling - so he lost a prespective buyer who was seriously interested in one of his listings.

Sellers cannot supply that information or even reply to the message without risking account suspension. And you risk account suspension too. Ebay's bots pick up on these messages, and assume you're trying to do an off-Ebay deal, which is a serious breach of the rules.

Every listing shows the approximate area an item is in, so that should suffice.  You must buy the item before you can exchange contact details. And without paying, of course, as collection items should only ever be paid for in cash or by bank transfer, once you've fully examined the item and are happy with it.  If not happy, you walk away with cash still firmly in pocket or bank, and the seller cancels the transaction to get the selling fee credited back to their Ebay account.

That`s fine, but there`s nothing stopping them to at least have the decency to reply and apologise that they can`t hand those details out due to ebay rules.
i sold something a month or so ago and had the same thing, a buyer messaged me to ask where i was in my town and i replied i was`nt able to supply it, takes 2 minutes to send a message and be polite 🙂

Seriously!! i`m saying the seller could have messaged you rather than ignore you, so why do i need `nasty remarks` aimed at me?
try to be bloody helpful on here and all you get is abuse, so sort your own **bleep** out from now on, i`ve got better things to do with my time!!

That last comment of mine was for the sender of the message sent to me 5/10/20 @ 7.34pm - pixiesen2012. I even had a message from ebay saying this is in answer to my initial query.

Your comment was very helpful and supportive. In all the years I've been on ebay I never knew this stupid rule existed. I've asked for this info loads of times and got it by return without any fuss from the seller.
Why would I ask this question if I knew the answer? pixiesen2012 needs to get the records straight before accusing me of fabricating a story resulting in me being accused of knowing the answer to my own question?

I suggested the last comment be directed to you as you were the only other person who commented. Please accept my sincere apologies - I did appreciate your support and often take note of someone such as you rather than the so-called "professional responders". I wonder if pixiysen2012 will have the guts to offer apologies - I doubt it but we will see.

I apologise, I misread the post, I thought the post I replied to was from you, I didn't notice that kight-rider had quoted your post and then added their own experience, it read as if the whole post was from you
