Ok I feel a bit dumb for this one. Everybody warns about buying cheap data storage. But it was sandisk so seemed legit. Price was great but not silly. It was UK local too. Anyways I bought few for friends birthdays. Plus one for me. Problem was none of them have been used or tested until NOW over 2 months later. They looked legit in packaging. No tell tale fake signs at all that I can pinpoint. So I jsut assumed they were real hence why I ordered two more after first ones.
Now doing a H2testw on one Im getting all kinds of error readings and corruption. So I assume all are fakes. Problem is I bought them late january. The seller seemed to only sell 60 big batch of these then legged it. Odd thing is they only have one negative feedback finding like me that its fake. Then again i left positive feedback when the item looked genuine before Id tested it. Maybe they didnt run any test & think its working well. It does take weeks months to fill up a card this size.
My question is do I have any way of getting my money back from ebay or paypal at this point. Ordered 25th january. Im guessing ebay is lost cause. Though the seller still has an active account it seems. Not selling anything else since. But whats the deal with paypal?
Any help appreciated.
Not from Ebay, obviously - their 30-day Money Back Guarantee covers you for 30 days, from the delivery estimate on the order. You can try PayPal, though - you have 180 days from purchase date in which to open a case.
You could try PayPal [remember their buyer protection is not a product guarantee] on the grounds that you have only tested the item and it a fake - but they might ask for 3rd party proof that it's is a fake.
PayPal case being 'not as described'.
