Is there any way to change the default payment method at Checkout?

It currently automatically goes to my Debit Card.  I want it to detault to Paypal.  I cannot find any way to change this.  Why does it decide to go to my Debit Card?

It doesn't 'decide' to use your debit card. It does it as per your earlier instructions (at some past point, you paid with your debit card, and ticked the 'make this the default payment' box).

If you activated auto-pay at some point, turn that off in your PayPal account too. All the payment options open to you will then appear at Ebay checkout again. Choose the one you want to use, and choose to make that the default payment if you wish.

Thanks for responding to my query.
I don't recall ever setting my debit card as the 'default payment', but it is very possible.
However, I cannot find where I remove this preference.

I do not have Auto Pay activated.

At ebay check out tick box for paypal, I think it then says set as default.
