Hello there,
last year in December I bought a new macbook 13 battery for my 10 year old laptop.
I bought it from a store with apparently 100% positive feedback on here.
On the tech specs of the new battery its power is said to be 5880mAh. I've had the new battery working on my mac since January and slowly it started to last less and less, now it lasts less than one hour and it claims to have a capacity of less than 900mAh ( less than 16% of what it should be designed for ).
I've written to the store website here on ebay and asked for feedback.I wonder if you can help me understand if I can actually do something to resolve my issue, If I can make a complaint about the wrong tech specs and maybe ask for a refund/delivery of a properly functioning battery.
Thanks for reading this
Best regards
Ebay's Money Back Guarantee, along with PayPal's Buyer Protection, can legally only cover items which you can see are damaged, faulty, or not as described on receipt. So items must be returned in the exact condition in which they were received. Ebay and PayPal (or any payment processor) cannot possibly assist with items which you report as problematic further down the line, as they can have no idea who is at fault - you for misusing the item, or the seller for supplying substandard goods. Only a judge can make such a decision.
But Ebay's MBG and PayPal's Buyer Protection are generous extras to your consumer rights - they don't replace them. If the seller is a UK business seller and proves to be unhelpful, go to the CAB's website to check out your consumer rights, just as you would when dealing with an unhelpful retailer in your local mall.
If the seller is not in the UK, there is nothing you can do, I'm afraid.
Sorry but it's far too late to do anything via eBay or Paypal. If you used your credit card, with or without Paypal, ring your card provider and see if they can help.
