INTERNET SECURITY NOT COVERED BY EBAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

Recently I bought internet security from a seller who sent me a key number but no disk.

The key was an already used one so I contacted the seller who ignored several messages, forcing me to ask eBay to step in.

I was told they do not cover this sort of product so I was left out of pocket and completely disillusioned with eBay's money-back guarantee.

I will now check before buying on eBay just in case they don't cover other items

As you treat this a serious matter and even blame eBay - why not leave feedback to reflect your experience and to warn others?

There's no point in blaming eBay if you didn't read their terms and conditions.

EBay's money back guarantee only covers tangible items. If the key number was listed for digital delivery, it will have been prohbited for sale anyway.

You can read full details of eBay's money back guarantee policy here: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/money-back-guarantee.html

The better news is that you might still be able to get your money back through PayPal, if that's how you paid. They have a more flexible approach to digital delivery. See: https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/what-if-i-didn%27t-receive-my-item-or-it%27s-not-as-adve...

On a live listing there is a "report" button where you can use the reason "digitally delivered goods" [which are prohibited on ebay as you have been told].

If you go to the paid listing it may still be there to report it.  It's on the right hand side - if so - and you have to find the report category

You have been on eBay for 15 years and I think it's a bit unfair to blame eBay in this case.
