Where did you see this message?

If card left, all info on there,

if carrier website, you have tracking info, so can re-arrange delivery from website.

Do you have any idea which item it might be and the courier used to deliver the item?  If you've ordered quite a few items and were expecting them to arrive at roughly the same time then it may not be very easy to identify the item in question.  If, however, you've only ordered one item recently, or if you've ordered more than one but this is the only one that still hasn't turned up then identify which courier the item was being posted with, as you may be able to get the item with some help from the seller.  I had a similar case myself many years ago, although in that case I was the seller and the buyer had contacted me via the Ask Seller A Question link.  He told me that he hadn't received the item, although when I put a trace on the item I found that an attempt at delivery had been made.

Basically what I did in order to help the buyer to get his item was to give him the tracking number via eBay Messages (despite the fact that I'd uploaded the tracking number after posting the item), then I gave him a description of the parcel, including the dimensions and colour of the package, the fact that the name and address had been written out in thick Royal Blue permanent marker pen, and even details about the package that the buyer wouldn't have been able to relay to the Royal Mail unless the sender had given him that information.  One example of this was that the postage label had been stuck onto the package a bit lop-sided and was somewhat creased as a result.  I told the buyer to provide the Royal Mail depot who were holding the item with all of that information and to provide them with some kind of ID to prove that he was indeed the intended recipient, such as a driving licence or a passport, and he told me that he would give it a try.  The following day he sent me an e-mail to tell me that the advice I'd given him had worked and he'd successfully collected the item and signed for it.  He subsequently left me some positive feedback in relation to the item, so it all ended well.

If you haven't already contacted your seller give it a shot and explain the problem, then ask him or her if he or she could give you some information about the package so that you can identify it from all of the other packages awaiting collection.  So long as your seller is helpful in this regard and provides you with some kind of information which will enable you to identify your own package from all of the others awaiting collection you may well be able to successfully collect your item, even without the card.

If all else fails then so long as there is an "If undelivered please return to..." address on the back of the package the item will probably be returned to the seller if you don't collect it in time.  If this does happen then you'll have to contact the seller about the matter and arrange for the item to be posted to you again, although you would have to pay the seller some money to cover the cost of posting the item to you the second time.  The second option would be to ask the seller to refund your money from the first sale and request that he or she relists it again so that you could purchase the item the second time should the seller agree to do this for you.

Should the seller agree to the first option then you'd have to make a PayPal payment to the seller to cover the costs of posting the item to you the second time.  However, if you and the seller agreed to go for the second option then perhaps it would be worthwhile seeing if you could find somebody else who would be willing to accept the item for you if you're not in all the time and do not want to risk the same thing happening again, in which case inform the seller of this and then when you make payment for the item once the seller relists it for sale change the delivery address so that it goes to the address of the person who has agreed to take delivery of it on your behalf.  You can then arrange to collect it from the person it has been posted to at a mutually convenient time, or alternatively the person who's agreed to help you can drop it off to you at a time that suits both of you if that would work better.

Finally, if you do end up taking the last option I suggested and you add a different address in at Checkout then when you next purchase something on eBay make sure that you change the address back manually to your own address, otherwise if you do not do this then anything else that you order from that point onwards will end up being delivered to the person who agreed to help you out as a one-off in relation to this item.  Once you've switched the address back again it will remain like that unless you choose to select a different delivery address again at some point in the future.

is it royal mail if it is they leave a red card you can phone them up and get a delivery.if it is some other postal service you have to message them or email or phone them to get your item delivered hope that helps you
