Does a seller usually contact you after you purchase an item from them?

I've purchased an item from a low seller but I've done this before with no problems.ive contacted this one twice because I wanted to know a detail about the item but he hasn't got back,he hasn't purchsed anything from eBay except some money off coupons in the last 6 months and he's also sold an identical thing he's sold me before a few months back,I'm getting worried as it was over £500 ,it's an American transaction.how can I find out if he's a seller or if he's account has been hacked?is there anyway or do I have to wait it out?

No. Why would they...?  There's no need. Just wait for the item to arrive (but expect seriously long delays, due the current situation).  If it never arrives, you have 30 days from the delivery estimate on the order in which to open an Ebay case, and 180 days from purchase date to open one in PayPal.

There's no way you can tell if an account has been hacked. Only the account holder can know. So yes, you will have to wait it out. If an account holder discovers and reports hacking to Ebay, Ebay cancel any transactions which have taken place, and send affected buyers advisory emails.

Not a lot you can do at the moment.  If you don't get the item check the estimated delivery date on the listing and when that has passed go to More Actions, far right of item on your My eBay Purchase History page and click on "I didn't receive it".  That will open a "not received" case which, if the seller doesn't accept it, you will be able to escalate after 8/9 days to get a refund.
