Corroding alloy

Hi,

I purchased a set of genuine alloys in Aug 2020. The wheels have been on my car less than 6 months and have already started to corrode.

I have only used soapy water to wash them.

I took the wheels to a professional alloy repair workshop and they advised its the lacquer that has been used.

I have contacted the seller with pictures but haven't heard back yet. I cant seem to raise a case or ask ebay to help as the purchase was made over 90 days ago?

Can anyone help? I dont see how I should be out of pocket for alloyes that have been coated incorrectly, less than 6 months on the car and are now corroding!

Thanks

Carly

You have 30 days on ebay to open a dispute for not as described

You have 180 days to open a dispute in paypal if you paid that way but that is for items that are not as described when you receive them.

Ebay and paypal money back guarantees are for items that are not as described when they arrive

and not a warranty.

Any warranty is between you and the seller.

If they are business in the UK then contact Citizens Advice for their help.

If overseas or a private seller then there is nothing you can do.

See the bottom of the page on the link where it says

Ebay Money Back Guarantee is not a product  warranty
