Ad in game led to sale

Hello 

I don't know if anyone can advise me what to do, my son was playing a new game on my phone and through ads on the game has somehow managed to buy 3 items from the same seller on eBay! He has brought these from America and I am in the UK! I tried to cancel the order as soon as I relised but that's not possible as it was paid for instantly, I have messaged the seller over 8 in 24 hours (I know time change will have an affect on this) but I haven't even had acknowledgment of my email! I can't find anywhere to help me on eBay either! My bank also can't help! Do I stand a chance in getting this back or am I £178 down 😫

It is not possible to buy items through an ad,  your son logged into your eBay account and bought these items.

As you know you do have to press quite a few buttons before actual payment is made,  it cannot be bought by one click in error.

All you can do is to keep trying to message that seller,  bearing in mind the time change you may have some wait,  hopefully they are undertanding.

Meanwhile change your password on your eBay account.  Log out completely when not in use.

My sons 5 he can not write or read so there is no way that he can search through eBay, my bank card and details are all on my eBay and if he pressed by it now then it would just automatically go through! There is no way on earth my son would be able to do this on his own so my only explanation is that he has brought it through the game he was playing! Thankyou for your reply I think I may just have to deal with it

Truly sorry this has happened and a nightmare I agree, but it only takes a few clicks to buy an item, it is just not possible to buy it through an advert you have to buy through someone's account, be logged in and a few clicks later the item is purchased another click and payment made. Your only hope is the seller will agree to cancel these items for you

i`m sorry, but unless the seller is sympathic, your stuck with the sale. i`m not sure if the rules are the same there as they are here, whereby you have a right to cancel to a `cooling off` period, but i don`t know how that applies to purchases from the U.S.A.

You may find some less sympathic on here, because buying one item by accident might be easy to swallow, but three items, from the same seller, then the process of paying for those items is`nt that simple, because you can`t simply buy something through an ad, have the process of giving the seller shipping details AND make payment without any imput your end is rather odd to say the least i`m afraid!

My son is 5 there is no way he would of been able to search and enter any of what he has purchased it’s the same 3 items just 3 different colours!! My eBay is automatically logged in linked to my bank card and address so he must of done it through the buy it now option, the only explanation I have is that it was through the game! My son can not read or write!!

Best thing to do is make sure you always log out from ebay when not using it,
